The autism thing is as thin of an excuse as Colbert being canceled because of ratings, but I understand that because I’m familiar with it.
Did the owner of Tylenol say they thought medicine should be available for poor people or something? Why is Orange Hitler so antiTy all of a sudden?
Everything is a distraction.
Don’t ask “Why Tylenol?” ask “Where are the Epstein Files?”
They got a lot of flack for attempting to subvert free speech, and Kimmel was announced to come back. What a great distraction to have to move the media off of all of that and have it quickly forgotten.
Part of it is RFK Jr. and MAHA who are on a mission to “cure” autism because the whole anti-vax thing doesn’t fly (due to common knowledge and, you know, science).
So it looks like they are blaming the most common medication used by pregnant people.
Not only that, it’s the only pain medicine pregnant women can have, everything else is already deemed dangerous. This is just another step in their quest to control women’s bodies entirely.
If someone could verify for me, others were saying that a direct competitor to Tylenol’s parent company is in bed with the Trump Administration, ‘iHerb’ or something. Which makes significantly more sense to me than any thing else.
There’s just a tenuous connection that is debated in the research which is enough for them to latch on to. Tylenol didn’t do anything other than be the subject of a bunch of studies that showed a correlation with autism when used by pregnant moms. but to be clear also a bunch of studies that showed the opposite - no correlation, thus the debate, and why no one else is jumping on this recommendation. The evidence simply isn’t there. At best more exploration is needed

I’m no expert, but from what I’ve found, there was a study that saw higher traces of acetaminophen in autistic children and their mothers.
Now, to be clear, the authors of that study NEVER CLAIMED THAT TYLENOL CAUSED AUTISM. They discovered and reported the correlation, and their conclusion was that it should be looked into further. Again, not to determine a casual relationship, but to investigate things like: what kind of pain those mothers were experiencing to require taking Tylenol, and if that could be used as an early warning sign for autism. Additional studies have been done since then that show no signs of Tylenol causing autism.
