Degree given to someone who wasn’t a student. These are given all the time to singers, actors, writers etc.
Denzel Washington, for example, has honorary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeremy Clarkson got an honorary doctorate in engineering from Brunel University. He can barely explain how a differential works.
It’s the most honorary degree… in the world!
