I guess it really got under Steve Hoffman’s skin.
I think they are preparing for something god awful.
Getting rid of old.reddit I guarantee it. It’s only a matter of time
Given it was the only easy way to protest something as community moderators you bet!
All mods replaced with AI
Almost certainly this. It’s on par with what Reddit has been doing the last few years.
Nah, something awful is long gone
Something wicked this way comez
His actual lizard skin, or the human costume he wears?
It’s just Reddit centralising control to the admins, and cracking down on dissent. It’s funny how much it mirrors real life instances of countries sliding into authoritarianism. But obviously this is just a website and doesn’t have such severe consequences.
Huffman and the Reddit admins are scummy bastards, and all decent people should leave that platform immediately, the same as Twitter.
Wait. I just saw another post about thousands of bot accounts joining new subs. Is this to ensure “le Reddit army” can still appear active?
Ah, a fellow le gentlesir in the wild!
tips hat
Lol, if you don’t get it, you’re not a Redditor. ;)
Interesting to see if anyone will mention Lemmy
I wonder if they censor mentions of Lemmy or if all the people that left for Lemmy are gone and no one noticed. Like, why are people still there and putting up with more of Spez’s bullshit? Do they not know they can just leave?
“everyone is there already” is a the reason I see the most
To ask… Is to to answer…
I am not on Reddit, but, would making a subreddit private lead to difficulty in training the AI and collecting data?
sorta, by reducing or eliminating new activity on that sub.
No. They have an api.
Honestly I’m just waiting for for the other shoe to drop. This is the exploding pager before the ground offensive.
Let the plebs keep licking them boots…
Or they come over to fedi and start on something new…
Kinda like that time the king of England took away Massachusetts’ legislatures. But I have a feeling the king here will fair better this go around.
George’s problem was that he was merely a king, and not a god
Hopefully he won’t, Reddit may seem more powerful in this scenario, but they aren’t invulnerable to threats or attacks. Hopefully enough angry people decide to do what’s necessary when the time comes.
Can community owners still delete entire communities, or this action also needs approval from Reddit staff?
