Private and public? So just schools in general? Or is home schooling ok? Oh, but I’m sure you want some books burned first.

Brits have been using it that way for centuries. Go dig through papers from the 1800s, you’ll find them describing anyone resisting their colonialism as “terrorists”. Legally, the US is working from the exact same definition that British common law uses.

That makes sense, since, as far as i can tell, the U.S. seems to be a modern hybrid of the British empire which spawned it and the German war machine it assimilated into itself about 80 years ago.

It’s amazing how much damage Bin Laden did to America by killing what traffic does in a few weeks (or toddlers with guns in a decade). Trillions in debt, scared shitless and divided like never before.

When I was young, an age ago, the word terrorist had a specific meaning, which was someone committing shocking acts to strike fear and hysteria into the general public and thereby influence society and policy.

Then 9/11 happened and although the 19 attackers were most definitely terrorists by the old definition, somehow the definition drifted until it meant “inhuman opponent against whom we are justified to suspend the rules and respond in any way we want to.”

Ironically, this usage itself is designed to inspire fear and keep people from looking too closely at what’s happening. “Oh no! Terrorists! Fine! Just kill them! Keep us safe!” Using people’s fear to justify whatever our military and government want to do comes ominously close to the old definition of terrorism.

That’s not a problem. Without trained and qualified engineers, architects and construction workers, soon the ‘prisons’ will just be a shoddily fenced easily escapable dirt arena.

I could not fucking believe what I was seeing, some months back, when somebody posted either a link to, or a green text clip talking about a tiktok video where…

… Some young adult, thought it would be cool to ‘pretend’ (?) to off himself by holding a loaded gun to his head and pull the trigger.

          A semi auto pistol.

This guy… not only did he not even check to make sure there was no rounds in the magazine, muchless drop out or empty the mag, he didn’t check to make sure no round in the chamber…

He manually flipped the safety off before doing this.

Yeah, he died, in the middle of an otherwise bragadocious display of being hard and not giving a fuck.

… The whole thing was so stupid and absurd that I still cannot actually tell whether or not he intentionally, or accidentally, offed himself.

You are probably right, but as someone with, you know, basic firearms familiarization and safety training…

Yeah, I am nearly incapable of imagining someone could be that fucking stupid, all by accident, its basically exactly what not to do, perfectly.

On the other hand, a lot of people are incredibly stupid, hence the Darwin Award.

I mean, if it were up to me, it would be illegal to purchase or possess a firearm without some kind of certificate you’ve passed some kind of firearms training course and also hold a first aid / trauma response certification.

Sure. Let’s also designate grocery stores as terrorist organizations. Gyms. Maker spaces. Libraries. Gas stations. ‘Terrorist organization’ is a useless term now.

    And remember:

I remember growing up that everyone knew what Marxism is and had a thoroughly developed class consciousness. Everyone was capable of developing a critique of capital. He might be onto something. It explains why America has such strong labor, free universal healthcare, and no bourgeoisie.

I don’t agree tbh. He is too precising in the pursuit of his goals to properly represent them. The US is in the situation it is in so small part because of the sideways dedication and genuine know-how of this person.

He is, clearly, not wise (as is true of anybody willing to sell their fellows for power), but what he lacks in wisdom, he more than makes up for in cruel cunning. He is a bad representative of maga because maga is more like his prey or his host than it is something he’s an actual part of. If maga is a fire, he is not a spark or a flicker, but a barrel of gasoline waiting to do what gasoline does

Tbf, schools are sort of indoctrination camps.

That said, getting rid of school so that kids would end up learning 0%, instead of the currently 50% useful stuff* isn’t exactly gonna solve problems.

(*since the other 50% is indoctrination)

The far right doesn’t really want to get rid of school, they just want to control more of it so that instead of the 50% center-right indoctrination, it’d become 100% far right nationalist indoctrination with their agenda instead.

I suspect that this time, they want to get rid of the children too.

These “people” want to snuff out humanity itself. They have AI now and each other.
