  • It was my bad, but an honest mistake. I had two accounts. there were two subreddits: r/meme and r/memes. One doesn’t want you to put the same meme on both (technically says something like: if you post somewhere else don’t post the same thing here), at least a few months ago that is what the rules were. I am new to making memes so I made one on Canva to see if it would be generally accepted by the community and whether my ideas/jokes were even funny. I posted on one of them idk I cannot remember which. And forgot about that rule, which is debatably absurd to begin with but that isn’t the absurd reason. (They did give me a 28 day ban for this, which is the absolute only thing I have ever done wrong on Reddit after a several years old account. While karma doesn’t mean anything it still took effort to get it, lol, not that it matters)

They banned me from one, and I was continuing to post on the other subreddit. Mind you I am now on my other account, because I am a little ticked off (not because I was temp banned from the subreddit, but that a rule I didn’t think of, and a little ridiculous is there, no warning, nothing)

Long story short, a few weeks later on that alternative account, I forgot about the whole thing, and didn’t realize I commented on the wrong subreddit–the one I was banned on the other account on. This is how I accidentally circumvented a ban and got perma banned on only my alt account, temp banned on the other for a week. After that I deleted all my accounts (I had 5, the reason was not to break rules or anything bad rather one was for art, one for music, one for general social stuff etc)

    Better on Lemmy anyway.

  • There is research and papers showing that heavy music in general can actually be therapeutic and make someone calmer, rather than the perceived opposite effect. It can be a great outlet. I listen to metal, heavy music, all the time but when I have used it as a coping mechanism, i.e. an outlet for stress, it has definitely allowed me to release such tension. Not only that, but singing/screaming to vocals along to the music surely does release all of energy, and while there are outsiders who might perceive the music as ‘angry’ the incorrect connection they’re making is that anger is an energetic emotion, as in unreleased energy/tension. Metal isn’t angry music, it is energetic. That is why it makes such good workout music. It stimulates and satisfies that part of our lives, letting us be some of the ‘nicest, most wholesome and fun people all around’.

  • Much of the math I learned was memorizing steps. If it came up in real life I probably wouldn’t be able to piece all necessary info into an equation. Even a word problem is assumed to include the minimum. I am not a software engineer nor a programmer (yet) I am learning python supposedly a good precursor since my bg is in web design. The way i see it, all forms of logic while they don’t have a direct applied use in my life, serve as an exercising of my mind and can help understand inconsistencies and other logic/reasoning concepts. They are indirectly related.
