My dad was in a conversation that turned to talking about peas (for some reason), and the quality of something being pea like, and called it pea-ness. We only noticed when he paused, and said ‘no, not like that!’

In the part of Australia I grew up in if you work with kids you need to get something called a blue card. It is a light background check nothing too serious. In my cheerleading team there was some of us over 18 but most were under 18. Club management said if you are over 18 you should get one, not because it was needed, but just if a parent asked anything they can say we all have blue cards.

Cue talking to my friends about it and they effectively boiled it down to, “So you have a card that say you are not a pedo?”

DO we? Holy shit. Here I was just about to think it was weird.

But. I hope we get the right background check. Even before this orange stain, my local SPCA was checking backgrounds via an American company and I was sure I didn’t want my personal info going abroad to some corp. I walked no dogs.

I work in private-possum stuff now (like secret-squirrel but less) and I’ve got cop in-laws (mounties are federal cops). So I’ve been checked so much it’s almost a sport. Send my info abroad? Nope.

    [NSFW]

    Tap for spoiler

I was recently told of the mom fetish where some women get off on treating their partner like their child- making them dinner while they play videogames and such.

I remember once dating a girl where she did exactly that, straight up to the way she called me sweetie. I honestly didn’t think much of it at all, I just thought “hot damn I get to play Zelda, get made an amazing meal, and then get laid!? This is the best deal EVER”.

From my perspective it wasn’t weird, she was just very considerate and hot. I don’t know if it was her fetish, but just knowing it could be makes me rethink the whole situation.

I highly doubt it was the fetish. Some women are just like that.

Especially if you ever date an actual mom, a lot of times she’ll just slip into “mom mode” without even realizing and start cooking for you or doing your laundry or whatever. It’s second nature.

…sooo I’m a decently attractive (child-free) lady that’s historically been this way with my partners (granted, not every day. Basically all of my relationships have been long-term, so y’know, sometimes the mood just isn’t there).

This is the first time I’ve heard of the mom fetish, and it also made me feel weird lol. But also made me reflect on why I’ve always kinda been that way, and wonder if this is maybe subconsciously the reason?

Turns out, the answer is a solid “no” lol.

I definitely had an upbringing that conditioned me to be the type of person that serves others. And so as I grew up, I guess that turned into a way that I show interest/love.

So maybe it was a similar thing for your girl? Ooooor maybe she was REALLY into feeling like a mom lol. The world may never know.

Probably one of the least destructive fetishes, getting treated like a kid, lol. Or perhaps I’ve just seen too much crazy shit on the Internet after a decade on early 10s Reddit.
