“Allowed to run”: There are shockingly few requirements to be president in our constitution. You just need to be a natural born citizen and at least 35 years old. There are some nominal requirements that vary state by state to get on the ballot.

However, this is the funny part, we’re still (I think, I may have lost track of all his court cases) trying to determine if a sitting president who engages in insurrection is able to run for president. This would seem to conflict with the constitution’s fourteenth amendment. And it would seem to conflict with the supreme court’s decision that suggests engaging in insurrection is an official presidential act.
