Concern troll is, as I understand it, more directly faking concern for a person. Things like "Are you okay? Do you need to talk to someone?"because you rebutted their argument, or “Suicide/self harm are never the answer” because you posted an opinion they disagree with. Sometimes it even rises to the point of reporting comments as self harm in a way that gets an automated or admin response.
To start, it’s a large scale demonstration of the Dunning-Kruger effect. They obviously understand very little about the law, if anything, but they think they understand one loophole and the sense of understanding breeds confidence. When you understand nothing, the feeling that you now understand something can be a powerful one.
Follow that up with a conspiracy-theorist’s mindset and it starts to make more sense. The SovCit thinks they understand this loophole, but that They don’t want to allow it. Who are They? Pick one. The Deep State, Corporate Elites, Rogue Judges, whoever it is that the SovCit feels has the power and will to ignore the rules just to personally thwart that SovCit’s stunningly clever application of the law. Now, their case isn’t failing because literally everything they thought they understood about the law is wrong, it’s because that Judge is willfully ignoring the law in an abuse of power specifically intended to put a stop to this. It’s not that the SovCit was wrong to think their signature on legal documents was meaningless because they wrote “Rights Reserved” beside it, the Deep State just doesn’t want people to know that’s how you avoid consequences!
Finally, wrap it all up with mythical “experts” and a self propagating network. One person trying all that shit alone might realize they don’t actually know what they’re doing, but they’ll select their contacts to surround themselves with people who will reassure them that if the first letter of the name on that legal document is capitalized it actually means a shadow-account created at birth and not the biological person. They’ll get support to help them overcome their doubts, fed by rumors of a friend of a friend who totally got it to work, or someone who got away with a warning on a traffic stop because they didn’t recognize the cop’s jurisdiction, or a friend’s cousin who has been using a fake “Private” license plate for months and has never been puled over. None of these experts materialize and provide solid, actionable information in a crisis, but the rumors and support are enough to keep any doubts at bay.
Just in case anyone had begun to consider that Joe Rogan is anything but an absolute infected boil on the ass of civilization.

When Democrat politicians fuck up, other Democrats will absolutely call for, and get, resignations. Even things that boil down to consenting adults in privacy can result in resignations when it’s seen to compromise a politician.
When Republicans fuck up, the party circles the wagons and goes full defensive. They will absolutely fight to resist any calls to resign, using any tactic they can think of to keep their latest pedo/pervert/con man/criminal in power. Only if the evidence is incontrovertible, and the outcry impossible to ignore, will they ever consider resignation, and as we’ve seen with Gaetz, that’s not even necessarily the end of their career.

A party agreeing to release ethics reports relating to their own people is utterly unthinkable to her.

They’re banking on their service still being better. In the short term they assume their particular selection of content will provide some inertia to your decision to move, and long term they expect all of the other options are going to do the same thing. Eventually, you’ll only be able to stream with commercials, and they’ll be back to the balance of their content being the only deciding factor.
It’s not Insane, it’s just wrong. People who can’t afford bail can generally get a bail bond, which will front the cost in exchange for the defendant paying about 10% IIRC. The thinking is that people who aren’t considered a flight risk, and aren’t a risk to the community, shouldn’t be imprisoned until there’s a guilty verdict, and putting money on the line that they lose if they don’t show up to court will encourage them to show up.
On the surface, it’s not an insane thought. It’s just… wrong. It just doesn’t really work. In practice it really does just disproportionately punish those who are already suffering, while also making it possible for the wealthy to further escape any consequences.
