People are much nicer as a whole here. I was on Reddit for years and I started to dread seeing I had replies to my comments. I’m actually excited when I get responses here.

I admit to a moment of weakness recently and went back to reddit with a new account after being off since they dropped third party support. My post got mysteriously held up in some kind of mod purgatory but it wasn’t clear at all what was happening with it. Eventually it got booted presumably because I mentioned the existence of Lemmy on it. There can be some total nut job mods on here as well, but in general overall it’s a less draconian more enjoyable experience. I can still get in fights with total strangers which is one of the core pillars of a healthy internet.
