This post gives me the heebie jeebies. Yecccch. Sorry I don’t have any good advice just disgusted by the very thought which had never occurred to me.
It is not only computers that have openings.
Sleep with one eye open
Clenching your butthole tightEnter roachman
A family member got a roach stuck in her ear and had to go to the hospital to have it removed.
A flying roach did that to my dad.
To put his reaction into perspective I once saw him pop his thumb like a grape with a 5kg hammer and he barely blinked. He put electrical tape on it, then drove a skid steer mini digger all day using that thumb to steer it.
He screamed bloody murder when the roach went in. He yelled and hit his head and went completely nuts the whole way to the hospital. It was biting apparently.
People wonder why I am completely fine handling spiders, snakes, basically anything but when I see a roach I must immediately kill it.
They’re attracted to the heat your devices put off. If possible, keep them powered off when not in use, instead of in sleep/rest modes as those can still keep some systems running warm enough to be inviting to pests. Keeping things elevated also helps, so if your PC sits on the floor, you should consider clearing some space on your desk, instead.
If possible, nothing that’s plugged into a wall should rest on your floors. Elevate everything you can; your computers, your TV, your game consoles, your router, the brick for your laptop charger… Keep it all on a desk or shelf or something, if possible. If you have the resources, use an IR camera to scout for hotspots on your floors, as a lot of devices will put off more heat than you may assume.

Wrap roach trap tape/ very very strong double sided tape on your desks legs
Those things can fly, but they prefer to crawl
Roaches fly???
I don’t think there are any holes in my computer large enough for roaches to get into, but I did once have a router that I only realized had an ant colony inside of it when I took it apart to move. Not sure how to prevent that from happening again.
Pet anteater.
By keeping them out of my home.
I live in Hong Kong, very warm and wet. We simply have mosquito nets on every window. Alternatively you can try to live higher.
But even without those, I don’t really see much people having this problem. Perhaps it’s sampling bias.
live higher
I tried some LSD and now my computer is filled with glow-in-the-dark molemen. :|
They don’t harm your computer like insects do. Problem solved :>
