There are technical elements that are actually agnostic to software, like composition, balance, communication, symbology, color theory, etc. But more importantly, and what they usually spent the most time on, it’s also a matter of taste. Like with music, taste plays a very important role in good design. Sort of like drawing, with enough practice and guidance anyone can draw really well. But knowing how to draw won’t make a person a famous artist. There are so many more things than the technical use of a tool.

An old Pentium III an extended family member had burned itself out of disrepair. The computer was used for about a decade before being forgotten, but plugged in for some other 5 years. Then they had the bright idea of using the old computer without cleaning it. It all went well for a while it boot up and otherwise was it old win7 self. Except, a couple of days later they let it on overnight. The house owner was awaken alarmed by the fumes of burning plastic and a faint trail of smoke coming from the case.

The over a decade buildup of dust had been trapping heat so bad that some old shoddy HDD power cable melted partially exposing the conducting wires. Then it short circuited and arced through the dust setting some lint on fire.

As of right now, there’s no AI product that actually do any of those things you need without a human in the middle to curate and correct the output. So you have to pay for AI and also a person to wrangle the AI.

For example, the company I work for has the whole office 365 package. It includes an AI enhanced automatic audio transcript. It is supposedly capable of transcription of Teams meetings and to generate a summary and minutes of the meeting. Except it consistently insists the meeting was held in German, despite the fact we only speak Spanish or English during meetings, we are not in Germany, nor we are anywhere close to Europe. It also can’t cope with low quality microphones, slow internet lag and sound cutoffs throw it out of whack and it requires all the meeting to be recorded and stored at MS servers (not our in-house exchange server) which means that it is useless for some meetings were confidential information is discussed and recording is disallowed.

It would take one of us a couple of hours to correct the transcript to make the summary function work and then make the minute and summary actually be in a useful format for us. Or, that same person could participate in the meeting taking notes, then use half an hour to write the minutes directly.

Your best bet to do those things you need is to find and pay for a good personal assistant. Cut the middleware.

You don’t use your hand afterwards, you use your hand to wash along with the bidet, then you dry with TP or a towel. It is not demented. It is just washing like how you are supposed to wash when you shower.

Guys would decry bidets but then go eat ass and pussy without a hint of self-awareness.

Well, I’m downtown right now and I no longer have my tablet with me. But here’s from the horse’s mouth. It says Galaxy Tab S, but it applies to all Galaxy tablets. There you can see the ctrl key on the tablet’s default keyboard. That key has full functionality for the common shortcuts. That’s undo, redo, copy, cut, paste, and select all. I use them all the time ever since I got it. Both tablets and phones can undo and redo if you connect a bluetooth keyboard to them too.

The Samsung keyboard for phones also acquires the powers of undo and redo if you activate the swipe gestures.

I don’t know why it is so simple on the tablet but not on the phones, but whatever. It’s a UX quirk, it’s not some magic that the keyboards are creating. Android has an UndoManager right in the OS since before 2018. It is what apps that have undo buttons use themselves.

Uuhh, I know we are talking about phones. But the stock keyboard supports all desktop shortcuts when Android runs on a tablet. Like, I’m using them right now on a Samsung A8.

I won’t say exactly where I work, because it is a sensitive topic. But the best part of my job is that I get to facilitate access to help for people after they have suffered some of the worst and most horrible experiences that humans can go through. The worse part of my work, interestingly, is not having to listen to the most disheartening stories and life experiences that usually really challenge my faith in humanity. Although that is heavy on the soul and tiring on my emotions, the actually worst part of my job is that I also have to inform to a lot of people, asking for help but who don’t fit the selection criteria for the help programs, that they will not be receiving help from my organization. I do try to get them in touch with others who sometimes can help them, but in general, it is always more people being turned down than accepted. There’s too much need in the world and too little people helping, but we are here helping.

Because by design, once an AI implementation finds a use, it changes names. It has to, it’s just how marketing this stuff works. We don’t use writer AI, we have predictive text; we don’t have vision AI, we have enhanced imaging cancer diagnosis; we don’t have meeting’s AI, we have automatic transcription; we don’t have voice AI, we have software dictation. And this is not exclusive to AI, all fields of technology research follow the same pattern. Because selling AI is a grift. No matter how much you want to fold it, it’s the same thing as selling NFT or Blockchain or any of the previous tech grifts, solutions without problems. No one actually have a use for a fancy chatbot. And when they do and get a nice chatbot going, they won’t call it AI, because AI is associated with grifts and no one wants that perception problem. But when you actually make a product that solves a problem, you sell that product, you stop selling AI. Also AI is way larger than the current stream of LLMs.
