I assume it’s still legal to get a passport if you’re delinquent in paying child support but maybe it shouldn’t be considering it could be a quick escape from such extremely important obligations…
It isn’t legal, and you already said why lol
Good.
I LOVE MY KIDS AND I TAKE CARE OF MY KIDS BUT DON’T Y’ALL UNDERSTAND?!?!?!? THAT STUPID BITCH WHO WAS ALWAYS CALLING THE COPS ON ME WANTS TO LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE AS THEM THAT MY MONEY WOULD BE PAYING FOR!!!111!!1! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT SHIT!?!
…
THEY’RE PROBABLY NOT MINE ANYWAY.
…
YOU KNOW WHAT? FUCK IT. THEY CAN FEND FOR THEMSELVES. UNGRATEFUL SHITS.
…
That’s most cases but I did have an employee whose ex would file non payment of child support on Friday so he would be jailed until Monday when the clerk was back in the office and verify that yes he paid his child support.
What a waste of public resources just to be petty and spiteful.
It’s always about child support… use protection if you don’t want one, fuck
That’s the neat part
think. THINK.
The tl;dr version is - you pay your goddamn child support. That’s it. That’s your only choice. If you currently owe more than $2500, you can not legally get a passport, and any passport you can get won’t be a legal one.
Hey, I missed you! Welcome back!
Thanks, just took a break from stupid Facebook. Ugh.
I know. We talked the other day. I just washed to make sure you knew you were missed!
You’re sweet.
I think you can still get a non-DL state issued ID card that would work for getting a passport with your DL suspended, but also, just pay the child support
Fun fact, but the IRS can take away your right to travel by not issuing a passport as well as cancelling a passport if you owe debts. They really like to do this if you owe tax debt.
They also like to cancel your passport while you’re abroad if your debt stacks up. When your passport is cancelled, any visas in the passport are also cancelled. Meaning of you’re living in India, Thailand, Panama, Mexico, whatever on a US passport and they cancel it, you’ll have to leave your new country immediately. As someone with no legitimate travel documents you will be deported to your country (US) immediately, you can’t go anywhere else. This is a fun tactic the US government likes to use instead of extradition.
Everyone should make sure to have more than 1 passport and ideally for countries that do not cooperate fully.
