Never admire an entire person, only the aspects of the person you find admirable.

Well, that works for most of them but what about fire ants?
Impossible
Let’s see who can make a bee lion to the correct answer.
Thanks so much for the explanation. As they say, when a measure becomes a target it stops being a good measure.
Relevant XKCD for good measure.
How can these businesses keep running? Storing and distributing documents isn’t exactly the most technically challenging product to build. I’m not in the field though so I’m absolutely certain I’m missing a lot of the nuances here. Can you shed some light on why you think nobody new comes along to our compete these folks?
“Sorry you are wrong, sad”
That’s just the Dunning on the Kruger isn’t it
It’s ok Nintendo, calm down, he didn’t mean that kind.
Very good point, that too
You can find plenty of these people are your local penetentiary
That’s awesome! I was surprised at the shift between having to push myself to go vs having a natural pull to go. Definitely makes a huge difference and seeing/feeling changes happening is so motivating.
Kinda a boring one but gym. Started a couple of years ago once a week and had to drag myself there but after a month or two of that something flipped and now I go almost every day. It’s pretty fun and it’s great to notice the change in myself over the last couple of years. Now just need to do something about diet and sleep.
My hobbies could beat up your hobbies
That is just perfect. Maximum waste of Russian resources.
Is that the second sub that Ukraine has managed to sink? I can’t remember if the first one was actually sunk or just badly damaged. Amazing achievement either way.
Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with the article at hand which is worthy of discussion in it’s own right but does anyone know how BBC is considered left centre? There are sources there on the media bias site for the factual reporting rating but in terms of the bias this is all that they had:
These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appeals to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.
…
Overall, we rate the BBC Left-Center biased based on story selection that slightly favors the left.
These two statements don’t seem to be in agreement unless I’m misinterpreting something. The actual reason seems to be that the BBC doesn’t run stories that the media bias folks feel they should but they give no examples.
It may be true but based on the media bias website I have no reason to believe their rating is in any way accurate.
EDIT: I missed the part further down on the site that goes into more detail onto the bias rating but the sources there say the BBC actually has a slight right bias. There’s nothing in there at all about a left bias except they claim the BBC can be overly negative when it comes to Trump, citing one single article titled “Trump: Is the President a Sex Pest?” which investigates some of the allegations against Trump at the time. Maybe I missed something again but I still didn’t see it justified sufficiently.
There would definitely be a lot more art permanently lost.
Well get pounded then, assholes. Or of course you could just leave Ukraine at any time.
Maybe there’s a good argument for nonviolence but “the means dictate the ends” isn’t it imo. It could be that there’s more to it in the book but presented as is I’d say it doesn’t follow logically, I’m going to want to see proof that it’s actually true which is going to be tricky because there are obvious counter examples.
The easiest one is probably Ukraine. I’m sure most Ukrainians want to live in a peaceful and nonviolent society, but if they took your principle to heart there would be no Ukraine right now.
