    Lol, have my upvote for a great backstory!

    Also, I think the word you want is “apprised”, which means “to inform”, while “appraised” means “to evaluate”.

    Lots of homonyms in English, another pair is “weary/wary”. Weary means fatigued, wary means cautious.
