Red flag. Bad opsec. I wouldn’t trust someone who trusts me.

Why have we given juggalos so much power?
When I first saw it I thought more about voter fraud. Dead people voting.
Goat cheese and baguette is top tier snack. Y’all don’t know how to live
So I was teaching some kids snowboarding, one kid started talking to me about musk on the chairlift. He tells me that musk is the greatest engineer to ever live. I say that he’s really more of a business man buying up companies. Kid is not convinced. I tell him that the only engineering that musk may have done was software engineering on PayPal. Kid thinks that’s great support of his claim.
Adults and 11 year olds are pretty much the same, so I would say there’s lots of people that think musk is a super genius. Probably a dwindling amount, but there’s a lot of people on earth.
I don’t know much about Austria, what’s access to mental healthcare like there?
There is the old saying that “People don’t quit jobs, they quit bosses.” My advice is to go to therapy first, I think the question will sort itself out after that.
A stoic though that helps me more than “man up” is asking myself “what harm will come to me?” In stoic thought we’re the only ones who can harm ourselves through the misuse of our impressions. We often know how we should act in a situation, but we don’t want to because of some perceived harm or discomfort. But since the stoics believed the only real harm was moral, we’re only hurting ourselves by not acting virtuously.
Will I hurt myself more by action or inaction? Through inaction what kind of person will I be? What will I lose through inaction?
College towns usually mean that the town doesn’t have any identity outside of the college. In some ways that’s nice, because you have a big community right there. But in other ways the town won’t really do anything without the college.
Sorry it’s been a really long week and the brain worms are getting to my language center…
Wow, “treat cops as if they are criminals”
That’s a piece of advice I’ll share around
Can you forgive yourself for feeling like he won? What sort of compassion can you feel for yourself in this situation? What kind of compassion can you feel for the person who blocked you?
I would go for a run or sit and journal a bit. Write or think out exactly what happened. Then I’d let myself know that it’s okay to be feeling this way. Now this is a chance to better myself, because i want to try to be better than this. I then try to widen my context. It’s not just me, it’s not just me and this rando on the net. This is a small part of all of humanity right now, and it’s time to make humanity better, even it’s in a small way that only matters to me. Maybe next time I can try to make it better for more than just me.
Why not synthetics? Sure they smell worse than wool, but a synthetic fleece is very warm and will stay warm even when wet, and will dry faster than cotton.
Stop referring to myself as old…
I’ve been called an idiot here a couple of times, but I think I’m drawn to the irrationally angry people
Not a specific website, but digital gardens are super cool. They are like people’s personal wkis full of their thoughts and interests. It’s not like a chronological blog, but instead it’s a web of hyperlinks connecting thoughts and ideas together!
I’ve been sucked into a depression fueled reading hole where I just read and lay in bed for several days. What’s weird though is after a couple of days I start to narrate my dreams and if long enough it begins to make its way into my waking life?
Ever experienced anything like this?
Finding stuff for roofing in the winter sucks. My boss swears by blacklader pants, they even have kneepad inserts. Wear layers under your pants. Long John’s and or fleece pants will keep you warm. Gloves are also super hard to find, or hard to find ones cheap (and warm) enough you don’t mind destroying.
I follow all of your rules, but let cotton be my top layer sometimes, as it is fairly cut resistant (we do standing seam). As for boots, muck boots seem to be warm enough and give you good traction on a panel/ underlayment.
I also bring hand warmers in case my hands start to get too cold. Also some people use the Milwaukee sweatshirt that is heated/battery powered as a mid layer. It may reduce too many bulky layers.
I teach snowboarding in the winter! You get a free pass, get to meet lots of people, and the more time you spend thinking about snowboarding the better you get at it. Also great for fitness. It can get pretty exhausting though.
I have a couple of friends in law enforcement (NYPD & state Police). They tend to be best cops around, one of them is being sent to be a trainer so he can get some bigger promotions.
You got to ask yourself and maybe them if they are a good person. All cops are bad because of what the system does to them. But who they are in spite of what that system is doing says more about who they are as a person.
Chances are they’ll have edgy jokes, but you’ve been on the Internet long enough to end up here, so I’m sure you can navigate that.
Remember conservatives hate liberal arts colleges because people who are exposed to diversity are more tolerant of it.
