  • I could see it being effective, yeah. Obviously in this situation she just needs to try it (carefully obvs) and report the effects. If it’s not/won’t be medically prescribed for her condition then she would be in somewhat untested waters, so it’s a trial and error thign obviously keep it safe and acetone wash it.

When I was self-medding with amph, I bought a scale and would pack it in capsules weighed out to 40mg each and pop two - four a day. Don’t snort that shit.

Definitely don’t do Cocaine that shit doesn’t help much of anything and even if it seems to, lasts all of 10 minutes unless you OD.

I would also suggest wellbutrin. It’s sometimes used as a generic stim, but unlike amph and etc. it’s also a smoking cessation aid - because it works on the nicotinic receptor, similar effect to nicotine but without the addiction (and in fact,.you won’t want to ever consume nicotine on it).

  • Average height where I am in the UK is 5’9" for men (175cm). I’m not dating in Asia so the global averages aren’t really relevant.

Don’t feel insecure though, it’s just each to their own, and I hope you find someone awesome who loves you and is a good fit! (if you haven’t already of course!)

I’m quite lucky because I found a girlfriend who is the same height as me. We’re a really good fit together physically and much more importantly we’re absolute soulmates, and in the end that’s what matters.

And for what it’s worth, before I met my gf when I was younger, I still went on a date with a trans bi dude who was like 5’3" or 5’6" or something because I found him super interesting. Didn’t work out, and it was actually me getting turned down, so there’s that, I didn’t discard him as a choice just because of his height nor even the potential physical incompatibilities.

I also once set up a date with a self-proclaimed “incel” Chinese immigrant who was around the 150-160cm mark, but he got paranoid and thought it was a scam because I listed the height req on my profile, and I was really busy and not responding much because I was trying to nail down an internship at the same time 🤣

One time , I went on a date with a cishet dude who said he was 6’0", so I took the occasion to wear my heels, turns out dude lied and just looked like my son the entire time, he also had a bit of a babyface, and it didn’t help he was a software engineer, and I was unemployed, but I talked circles around him in terms of computer stuff when I started infodumping about hackintoshing old vaio laptops over dinner.

Never spoke to him after that and neither did he to me lol, awkward all around lmao

  • I mean, 5’7" is quite short.

Not that I would wish it on anyone to be rejected because of their height, but we’re all entitled to our sexual preferences, without the burden of justification. And this one seems incredibly reasonable, unless maybe you’re in Asia where 5’7" is like top 1 percentile?

I would never date any man or woman below 5’10" because I prefer my partner to be taller than me. I generally consider anything less than 5’8" to be very short, and anyone over 6’0" to be tall.

  • Most of them have a more or less coherent plot but an unrealistic premise.

Like I’m escaping my home from a tornado or massive storm of some sort, but such things don’t happen where I live, etc.

There’s also a kind of short “context memory”, like a generative LLM, where past a certain point some information is lost, the previous plot will be forgotten and a now it’s a completely new genre, sorta like From Dusk Till Dawn.

Often more-or-less magic will intervene in science fiction scenarios and vice versa, like star wars invading star trek or bsg type stuff, or an apocalyptic movie will become a sort of bizarre nature documentary narrated by Steve Irwin and David Attenborough from the afterlife in their respective passionate and dispassionate tones about what became of humanity after the end (kinda wish it was Ron Perlman instead), or F&F style action setpiece where I’m running from falling nukes will become a 10 Cloverfield Lane or The Thing type “social trust” thriller with sketchy characters and an escalating threat.

Often they’re “played” by either actual actors, game characters or people I knew in high school.

  • Yes, while reading. I miss music to be specific, so this applies to comic books, manga etc.

A good soundtrack to me is everything in terms of tone and atmosphere and mood.

Less subjectively, it makes sense, since you can’t touch or smell the world inside a book or a game or a film or whatever, the remaining types of information are auditory and visual, so 50% of the information about a thing is aural, so games, movies, shows etc. get that as a leg up on books etc.

On the other hand a lack of music does often force my brain to make some up which gets my lazy ass to go nurture that hobby and produce some sounds so I’m not complaining!

  • You both seem nuts to me. I can conceptually imagine, but obviously cannot see things in my head because I’m not schizo, my surroundings don’t disappear but it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate descriptions and conjure concepts from them, just not imagery.

I think all this aphantasia stuff is just trappings of the English language and having “imagine” have the word “image” as a root, which is wrong, because imagination is more about concepts, it’s a unique data structure that’s not related to jpegs or photons and doesn’t involve them. But some people conflate the two because their language doesn’t allow them to think otherwise so they assume concepts are literal images in their head, and others with enough self-awareness to know they don’t actually “see” anything in their head assume they have an issue/divergence. It’s so bizarre to watch.
