It’s not always playing games… some people also just come out and say it… others will mask it with a joke… but then the conversation needs to be had. Not always full serious… we need to talk… but this is a good cue. As the other poster said … for both your sakes.

Hope you are OK… don’t know how to read your “I’m don’t with it”.

  • Like that… I mean in general when the topic of marriage is brought up in a circumstance that is not an obvious joke. And even when used as a joke it is something that should be taken as a queue to probe the subject… Verify that it’s not a joke hiding more. Some people are dumbasses but also some people think it’s hard to bring up the subject.

When they ask you like that… it’s the cue o have a conversation on the F-ing subject. What are your hopes and dreams, kids, quick wedding or elaborate… you know… discuss what the future would hold together.

Once you have had those conversations you also know what the answer to a proposal will be.

  • Well it also looks at stuff like the other devices connected from the same IP, other devices near where you connect from and then based on this also hones the served content.

So if the author/some colleague or even the neighbors are red pilled/MGTOW/Chriso-Fachists etc this also makes sense. Possibly even their research into these subjects slanted the results. Let alone what happens if they spun up a VM at a cloud farm and used it from there.

I’m in no way surprised that “social” media corps serve up vile shit for profit ik just not convinced by some random let’s see what happens.

Edit: I’d be for a law that required targeted ads to have a small “why you see this” and if you click it the company is required to show you the selection criteria that caused this ad to be served to you in an easy to understand format. (Leaving out all the irrelevant criteria)… ie.

You where selected by the following criteria:

    • region: europe
    • gender: male
    • interests: Games, Lemmy, politics

  • We can only hope he does. More people move over to mastodon with large companies running their own instances in the ecosystem.

This would allow for a federated broadcast system similar to how Twitter is now used, but if mastodon gets critical mass and governments start using it like they do Vichy Twitter it would be great news.

If that leads to some extra government grants for the further development of mastodon and the fediverse… Possibly even under the guise of standing up to big american tech… we all win.

But if he does, he signed the Death warrant of his own platform. A lot of governments and mega corps are there because of users. Governments will all need to replace it immediately if they find out their main broadcasting platform could be turned off tomorrow.
