Let’s face it folks – if you’ve gotta live in a country going through chaos, you might as well have a bit of fun on the way down. One of the few things that perks me up each morning is seeing headlines like “Trump Supporters Worried About Losing Their Federal Jobs” or “Republican Voters Worried They Might Not Get Their Social Security Checks”. Well folks, when Trump was promising chaos in the run-up to the election, this is what he was talking about. All these federal departments getting turned over and eviscerated is exactly what he said he’d do. Supposedly, this is what you all wanted!

If you’re a multi-millionaire and you voted for Trump, I get it. It seems like a really good idea. If you’re working class, or even crazier, dependent on government aid, and you voted for Trump, holy crap… you were swindled.

I hope eventually our country gets back on the track to being sane. It’s a shame that it’s much, much, much easier to tear down things than it is to create them. I look forward to the mid-terms and I hope the Democrats get their heads out of their asses, because we could really use the help. In the meantime, I’ll be drinking up all those delicious “Trump supporter tears” and not feeling bad at all.

I’m struggling to believe these articles are anything but pandering to the left. I struggle to believe there’s any significant number of conservatives actually having real second thoughts.

I mean during COVID you had conservatives literally claiming COVID was no big deal as they died. I think that was when I understood just how far gone these people could be. They will happily drink the Kool aid no matter the personal cost to themselves.

So losing their jobs is questionable as to whether or not it’s going to actually result in a different mindset, rather than some fleeting complaints that are forgotten by the next election cycle.

There’s not exactly any good news to go around, so chuckling at the misfortunes of others is all we have. I’m very aware I’m on the same sinking ship. My only hope is to stay alive while this happens and hopefully still be on board when the holes are patched.

No, dude. People are going to die over this. A lot of people.

Democrats are complicit at best, and each day they seem more like collaborators. They won’t save us from fascism because they don’t want to.

We’re fucked beyond belief, and it’s going to take a long time for people to realize how badly.

This is the exact same line of thinking trumpets have…

Where they’re fine the country is being destroyed because it hurts people they don’t like.

The wealthy are spending a shit ton of money to ensure that’s the line of thinking of most Americans, they won’t the majority fractured and focused on hurting each other so we don’t unite and fight the wealthy.

I 100% get what you’re feeling, but it’s what the people who are really the problem want us to think.

You’re less asking a real question and more asking a rhetorical question and then going on a spiel about it.

It might stay up. But lots of posts like this (especially political ones) seem to get removed.

The question isn’t rhetorical. I want to know if I’m the only one getting a chuckle out of the really horrible headlines each day. This is a new phenomenon for me and I want to know if others are feeling the same thing. Politics aside, you’d have to admit the USA is a bit more chaotic than years past right now, and that’s not some kind of liberal spin – it’s true.

I understand the appeal of this, but it’s definitely not healthy or helpful. I have to assume that most of these “swindled” people were low-information voters. Generally, people have more important things to do than keep track of what their representatives are doing. I assume they saw nothing more than, “democrats are in charge, and inflation is a huge issue.”, and conservative news was happy to play up that angle without discussing why inflation is a problem. The democrats’ message of “it’s not as bad as you think it is/look at how much we’ve accomplished/we’re still fixing it” wasn’t very cohesive and didn’t really resound with people, either.

I don’t know what the appropriate response is. Empathy is hard. You don’t have to forgive them for electing a fascist, wanna-be dictator, but you do have to give them “an out”. No one likes to eat crow, so if they can’t find a way to save face, they’re just going to double down, no matter how much it hurts everyone. So far, “how was I supposed to know?” is the closest thing I’ve seen to a way to avoid embarrassment, so I think we’re going to have to let them have that one.

Sorry, my tank is empty from the constant bullshit during COVID. Can’t wear a mask to help prevent the immunocomprised? Well, here’s your FREEDOM. It’s finally here. I hope they get what they were wishing for. All those red states wishing us ill while the blue states supported them with our tax dollars. No more! Don’t wan’t FEMA? Wish granted! Good luck on those hurricanes!

I’m sorry, if you’re a low information voter in the information age, you are getting what you deserve. How many of these people share links on Facebook with memes that can be disproven with a 5 minute visit to the library? This is the “science is fake” crowd I’m talking about. They are constantly surrounded by information and turn up their nose at it. They are proud to be ignorant. Well, there’s a real cost to being ignorant, and that cost is being swindled by con-men. The very same con-men will blame things on Biden, and I’m sure not 100% of the voters will wake up, but they didn’t want to listen before and they made this bed. Now we ALL have to lie in it.

Nope. That’s not it. “You were supposed to know” because it was fucking obvious to anyone who paid even a little attention. Be embarrassed about that.

Even if we can shake trump and the maga party and head back towards the road to normality. We aren’t going to get rid of musk and other like minded billionaires from interfering with politics for a long, long time. At least not using legal means.

I have no faith whatsoever that they’re going to win anything. The political persecution will be in full swing before hand and we’ll be having article after article of “xyz Democrat being investigated for (insert excuse here)”

It’s going to be Hillarys emails all over again except this time there won’t even be a grain of truth behind it. I’m honestly expecting a “red wave”

I think it’s difficult to avoid feeling that way. Part of me feels bad about it because I know the other side would be laughing their asses off if we were the ones feeling betrayed. But now is not the time to gloat, there’s too much we have to do to fight this as best we can.

the schadenfreude from the leopards ate my face too people is only muted by the fact our faces are also being eaten at present, with Trump causing, Republican enabling, global economic depression, martial law, civil war, nuclear winter, famine, and death that seem to be right around the corner now

No, I am actually just saddened by it. I know people voted for him and it’s easy to say they deserved it, but the misery caused by his politics goes so profoundly deep into a society that already have so many people struggling, that I just find it depressing.

I may be in the minority here, but I didn’t think Kamala was THAT unpopular. I still have my suspicions that the elections have massive voter fraud happening. For her to not win ANY of the toss-up states is…interesting to say the least.

We need some new voter integrity protections put into place. Yeah yeah, I get that mentioning that is unpopular with dems, as it’s often equated with voter suppression - but last election cycle we had one black woman who had her voting rights restored get put through the legal wringer on if she was allowed to vote or not; meanwhile I had white folks in The Villages (FL), casting votes for dead people, get caught, and basically nothing happened to them. (Fines, Community Service, no jail time)

Seems par for the course to be honest. Well, it’s kind of surprising but with the benefit of hindsight it’s well within the bounds of plausibility. I mean there were two or big issues in this election besides not being Trump: the economy, immigration and Gaza. The Democrats failed on all of them.

I’ve heard it from more than one person that it was a “blowout”. Well, the margins were a lot closer than that, if you ask me. Kamala wasn’t my favorite person on the planet, but for sure, I knew she wouldn’t cause as much chaos as Trump would, and I very much did want her to get in as President. Unfortunately, the less reasonable among us were victorious and now they are getting EXACTLY what they asked for. They just weren’t aware of it at the time. I wish I could say a lot of people will be learning a lesson right now, but they will just continue to blame things on Biden, even as Elon Musk is busy blocking all their Social Security checks.

No, it will get very ugly before there is any kind or normalcy again. Many people will needlessly die because of this all. Lives being in jeopardy due to the ego of a mad king is nothing new, but the magnitude of which it can affect nowadays…
