  • I don’t remember them being a good video game company. I never liked any of the games they made (but obviously that’s subjective). I went through wikipedia for the list of their games, and only ones I found that I had ever bothered playing was Breath of Fire I/II, Myst. They’ve always kind of been a middling developer; I think the games I listed they were just the publisher. They release something, it’s popular for a week, it gets mixed reviews, and then it falls to the wayside again.

I’ve never bought shit by EA or Ubisoft - not because I’m boycotting them or anything, just because their shit isn’t that good. They just feel like they’re lacking ‘soul’. Watched plenty of friends play through Assassins Creed, and Far Cry, Rainbow 6, etc - just - never looked any good.

  • I believe the goal and intent is to get enough results into question that they kick it into Mike Johnson’s hands - and that mfer has almost no history at all. No bank account, nothing. He’ll do the thing, it’ll be contested, it’ll go to supreme court, where – surprise surprise, they’ll rule in favor of Donald J Trump and he will be elected our new Dictator. At which point he’ll be sworn in, because - Dems have never had any backbone - and then he’ll proceed to gut every institution which questions him, and turn this nation into an autocracy.

What people don’t realize yet, is that the election doesn’t matter unless Kamala wins by such a large margin that they can’t pull this off. They require the veil of uncertainty for this all to work. But since we’re on razor-thin margins, it’s going to happen anyways.

We’re already boned, and nobody realizes it yet. The playbook is out in the open and the media has stopped calling this out. They’re complicit in it, because they think the leopards won’t eat their face too. So they’re cozying up early.

  • I’ve known many people to be like this, they just want to slink back, and ignore the blatant. Thank you for having the balls to step up and bite back. People like you are the reason I don’t see almost ANY Trump flags in my neighborhood this year. It’s a cult of personality that nobody else has quite been able to achieve. Once he’s gone for good, things can get back to semi-normal. We still have to be vigilant about the shit Republicans are doing, but at least maybe at that point some family ties will begin to heal.

  • Hah, I’m totally making an assumption here, but I’m willing to bet you’re the type who tests the temperature of the room by saying something mildly political like this, and then if things go well, you’ve successfully hijacked a conversation - and if they don’t, you just back off and pull the “it was just a joke, I was being funny”…

Unfortunately you backed yourself into a corner here because the “it was just a joke!” doesn’t really land well when you’re trying to inject politics into a conversation that has literally nothing to do with them. I know I’m kinda hard calling you out here, but I’m just saying - it’s not a good look.

  • If your “FIRST STEP” is to choose an OS: Fuck that.

You should never have to change your OS just to use this crap. It’s all written in Python. It should work on every OS available. Your first step is installing the prerequisites.

If you’re using something like Continue for local coding tasks, CodeQwen is awesome, and you’ll generally want a context window of 120k or so because for coding, you want all the code context - or else the LLM starts spitting out repetitious stuff, or can’t ingest all of your context so it’ll rewrite stuff that’s already there.

  • This is the answer. Japan has a lot of respect for others (well, for other japanese at least), so these types of machines will last a lot longer; making the payoff more palatable.

Place a vending machine outside in America, and it’ll be vandalized in a week max.

Even in highly walkable cities, you don’t see vending machines. It has nothing to do with cars, it has to do with the culture of the US being one of disrespect most of the time.

  • Wife refused to watch anime because “of all the weird shit”. Inuyasha broke the ice, Naruto got her a little further, and then I said “Let’s watch this - but I’m going to tell you right now, your first reaction is going to be to recoil and cringe. But I promise - if you give it a chance, you’ll enjoy it”.

And probably ONLY because she loves me so much, she did give it a chance. And WOO boy that helped open the flood gates to sooooo much more. She loved Kill La Kill by the end of it, and ended up being so much more willing to trod through uncomfortable stuff with me. Which, unfortunately, sometimes you have to do when it comes to Anime.
