I made a typo for one of my employment dates while filing the background check. Caught it right after submitting it and then asked around and everybody told me that they’ll call and ask about it if they can’t figure it out from just looking back at my resume.

Next morning they called me and said they had to close the role because of budget cuts. Two months later I got an email saying my hiring was being paused because my background check was flagged and I had 10 days from the check to dispute it. I decided to call the company and they told me that they had already hired someone else for the role.

So yeah, getting the dates right can be important.

Why would he turn away from the crowd and do the motion again if he was trying to show his heart going out to the crowd?

You would have to be an enormous idiot to believe in that excuse.

I was just reading about the Red Bull case the other day. It seems like they settled in order to make the stories all about how they ‘lost’ the ‘red bull gives you wings’ case, which sound like a stupid lawsuit, rather than go to court and have the media write about how Red Bull doesn’t do anything that a cup of coffee won’t do. They even still use the ‘gives you wings’ slogan.

Yeah, I didn’t have a problem reading it. The most awkward part was the weird comparison to Big Ben. The wrong “there” was the first thing to make me pause and then I saw the joke.

The nearly part is just there for the joke. Most of the time people are comparing two different things which are nearly the same, so it’s supposed to be funny when the two things named turn out to be the same thing.

Newer generations have decoders/encoders for more codecs. 8th gen Intel Core cpus have good HEVC support while you need the more recent gens for good AV1 support.

They have a really small userbase, but it lines up well with the demographics here: Early adopter, tech enthusiasts with a distrust in Google and tired of how bad search is now.

Early adopters are generally very excited about whatever they’ve picked up. They feel the same way about a search engine the same way I feel about wearing only the same brand of black socks. Super excited to tell everyone about it whenever I get the chance because of how much it changed my life.

Every list I’ve seen is completely different, but none of them have Illinois in the top 10 worst. The most consistent result I saw was Rhode Island being one of the top 3.

I used to love both Vanilla and Cherry Coke, but I can’t stand cola flavors (any brand) ever since I got covid last year. So it’s been mostly the cream soda flavor Dr. Pepper if I drink soda at home.
