I was thinking of getting a keypad, but I’ll definitely have a manual deadbolt along with it because I’m paranoid of it failing, so I’ll likely still be locked out either way.
Edit: I realized a deadbolt has to be locked from the outside, so maybe I won’t be locked out in that case.
Last night, when I was waiting in the car for my wife and we realized after she got in that her bag, where the house keys were, was still inside. She thought I had the bag with me in the car. Had to call a 24/7 locksmith because it was late in the evening.

Just switching to lemmy from reddit significantly cut down my screentime, especially with how small lemmy is right now where I can browse most of my subcriptions’ content for the day within a total of 2 hours. Nowadays, lemmy is what I do when I have downtime, not the other way around where I don’t have downtime because I’m constantly scrolling.
If lemmy is still eating up a ton of time in your day, then yes deleting your mobile apps will definitely help.
Go to eventbrite or meetup and check out all the free events in your area that are interesting to you, then just show up.

My hobby is music, and I found it by being exposed to it at an early age. We had a record player at home and lots of musical instruments. My older siblings had piano lessons and taught me when they got home. They also bought cassette albums every now and then until we had a pretty large collection, then it became CDs.
10-15 minute brownbag sessions. People won’t be bothered to read privacy guides links you send them. Bribe them with food. Try to get them all together somewhere with the promise of some snacks/drinks then have an interactive session about what you want to discuss. Don’t make it a lecture, make it like a casual conversation. Pick a topic and start with a real life event that happened that may directly affect them (i.e. the recent ssn breach). That will get them engaged.
Walk around the cabin every few hours if it’s a long haul flight. For a 5 hour flight, maybe get up once or twice. Get an aisle seat so you won’t disturb anyone when you get up. You’ll also have a litte extra knee space towards the aisle. Bring along ergonomic support like pillows for your neck or lumbar. If you’re really hurting bad, you might have an underlying problem that your doctor can help you diagnose.
Slap you thigh and stand up and say “Welp, it’s getting late…”, then say whatever you need to be doing.

This is a bit different, but I took a taxi once where the driver was ranting how slow other drivers around him were reacting to traffic saying they weren’t paying attention…while he was fiddling with his phone and texting someone.
