The album MCMXC A.D. by Enigma is such a powerful album for me. It pulls me through some of my deepest emotional states and will often set me back on track.
I also regularly enjoy long sessions of Trance. Something about the way the genre is constantly evolving but never trying to surprise you in the traditional sense. It guides you comfortably from one movement to the next.
I’ve had this conversation with one of my older friends. We used to have a lot more of a monoculture when it came to media. You could joke about last night’s popular TV shows because nearly everyone you knew was watching them.
There just wasn’t as much stuff being produced at the time. Now, you can always be listening to something new, 24/7, and you still won’t even begin to tap the potential of “what’s popular”. And once you step outside the US, that blows up to a whole new proportion.
I mean, my personal pipe dream is that in 10-15 years, we get something like her, but the idea of any of our current tech billionaires doing that is just laughable. Her was way too much of a finished product and actually helped the users.
Not that I’d personally care, but I don’t know that I’d trust that they wouldn’t just ignore those instructions. Who would call them out?

Bingo. I work with clothing and people like to complain about the generics, but if you get something above the absolute cheapest shirt we offer (go figure, it’s what most people go for), you’ll end up with something pretty nice.
MAGA doesn’t care about quality. Like, at all. All of the customers I’ve gotten that are clearly on that side of the fence all want it cheap and fast. Who cares if it looks or feels good as long as you tick the box. They wouldn’t know taste if it threw up in their mouth.

I do already, but there were like 15 altruistic answers and no one provided a single actual desire. I appreciate Lemmy’s eternal selflessness, but we can’t even fantasize in a casual conversation without virtue signaling here and it can be a bit tiring sometimes. (Wouldn’t want to be any other place, though)
I feel like a lot of people are missing the “with your life” part of this. While I’m sure I’d love to magically fix the world’s problems, to answer the actual question:
I’ve always pictured a house built into the side of a cliff face that’s right next to a road. The rock pulls away to reveal the garage whenever I’m nearby. I’d have just a few rooms, nothing too crazy. I’ve always loved the idea of an underground house. I’d also have a decent-sized workshop/garage for the many projects I’m always working on.
I’d also try starting my own business for the first time and I’d be curious to see how my skillset applies. I can’t bring myself to do it in today’s current situation.
That and a Lamborghini. Because why the hell not? That’s what fantasy is for.
All this comes with the disclaimer that I don’t have any kids.

I find it amazing they never revealed their identity and it will forever remain a mystery.
Probably even had a really great one-take scene showing how he got there with a great memorable musical number to take focus for a couple minutes.
