  • Modern phone cameras are 99% software at this point. If you took one phones camera and put it onto another phone without adapting the software then the photos will look like ass.

You can’t just unplug something from device X and connect it to device Y. The connectors aren’t standardized. And even if they were they wouldn’t fit because the placement is different. In theory you could take the CPU off of one device and plant it onto another. But have fun with that BGA micro soldering. Plus the connections will be different unless you picked a phone with the exact same CPU. Ram is the only thing you could potentially upgrade. But like good luck.

You’d legitimately have an easier time making a new phone from scratch than trying to piece together 3 different phones.

  • If reinstalling windows didn’t fix the issue then you most likely have a hardware issue. You could always make a linux live USB and see if that works. The live USB won’t touch your HDD so if the HDD is the problem you won’t know until after you’ve installed linux.

Before you do that download a program like hwinfo and look at your temps. Specifically CPU temp. Somewhere towards the bottom it will tell you stats about your HDD as well and it may include what SMART thinks your HDD’s health is.

  • If it wasn’t for lossless music, and storing about 75 gigs of drone footage on my phone I don’t use a lot of my storage typically. The 256 default is enough for me. But since I imported this phone I just said fuck it and went for the 1TB model and I’m sure as hell gonna use that storage. Apps bloating to use a shit ton of storage? Fuck it I don’t care.

Also I’ve always hated having the two tier storage for my phone. When 64 gig SD cards were a lot for a phone I had one and I hated it. It was only good for music, and offloading some photos. But it was always a pain getting most photo apps to recognize and treat each folder as one unified library so I’d always have half of my photos “inaccessible”. My last phone with an SD card slot was my galaxy note 3 from about the same time. After that I just started buying phones with enough built in storage.
