Hey, they’re just asking questions!
Hey, they’re just asking questions!
Anything as complex as an atom will be disintegrated too.
The most successful method the wealthy have used to subvert social movements is infiltration. When a drone swarm can do that, then drone swarms will be what I worry about.
Thus my note about “social media and AI mass surveillance”. What makes insurgency so effective is the enemy of the occupier could be anyone.
The US lost in both Vietnam and Afghanistan because occupation is hard. There isn’t an army on the planet that can even come close to taking on the US military in open combat, but insurgencies are a completely different animal.
Social media and AI mass surveillance might make a difference, but I kinda doubt it.
I don’t think this is where we are headed, but it wouldn’t be an automatic win for the military. Unfortunately, the people who end up in charge after an uprising usually end up being worse than the people they replace.
They really thought she’d be worse?
For the love of God, please stop spreading this mode of thinking. Elections are won by enthusiasm, not an intellectual weighing of the pros and cons of each. This is the model Democrats have used for decades that got us here. Being the lesser evil is not a solid campaign strategy. The greater evil will always get more attention, and therefore enthusiasm.
I don’t think this is an exclusively American thing. Did Brits really think brexit was a good idea?
That sounds too sciency for most Americans.
That door can be made to swing both ways.
Defense contractors have started entire wars to manipulate the market. It’s all market manipulation.
If you can’t organize a political movement, you definitely can’t organize a revolution. Also, if history is a guide, the people with wealth tend to end up in power after a revolution.
Run for office, or find someone worthy and get behind their run. Don’t worry about Republicans for now,vee have to defeat the Democratic establishment before we will have the ability to fight Republicans.
The word fascism is rarely overused, people just don’t understand that fascism is the most common political ideology in the western world. People think that fascism only applies to jack booted thugs and concentration camps when it is really just banal bigotry and arrogant incompetence.
That’s not a new war. It’s the war behind all the other wars.
If you are currently in the process of saving instead of withdrawing in retirement, then falling stock prices are just buying opportunities. If the grocery store puts eggs on sale, you wouldn’t fret that the eggs currently in your fridge aren’t worth as much.
When you think of it that way, it gets a lot easier to hang on after a crash, and you might start looking for ways to buy even more at bargain prices.
A little baking soda to lower the PH takes away some of the unpleasantness. With the right PH, salinity, and temperature, you barely feel the water flowing. You can also add just a drop of baby shampoo to help clean out crusties.
That’s an accurate summation for my understanding as well. Things that the judge should look at when considering a minimum sentence are defendant cooperation, displays of genuine remourse, and indications that the defendant is unlikely to continue breaking the law. If the judge can find any of that, it’s beyond me how.
None of his current convictions are expected to come with a custodial sentence
Strict adherence to sentencing guidelines actually would see him jailed on his current convictions. If he isn’t given some kind of imprisonment it will be because the judge was afraid of the aftermath.
Republicans are working on it in the US.
I got banned for spreading “disinformation” about how badly the war with Ukraine is going for Russia.
I dunno about soda, but washing down Oreos with Guinness is fucking amazing.
