Some say that giant Koreans don’t exist.
Recently, my car. I was driving around a 2006 and recently got a 2024. A backup camera is amazing. The collision detection, touch display, and Bluetooth are a nice bonus also.
The obligations thing is huge. Like literally anything I end up doing - even work - will be because I want to and not because I need to.
This was a good read! I’m also lucky in that I’m part of an actual retirement plan through the state, although I am also putting money away as well. I actually plan on working, but not in my current industry. Maybe give different things a try and just focus on enjoying myself.
I got good enough at it that I could win with no challenges about 2/3 of the time. Hit me up if you ever get stuck.
I considered this, but I actually kind of want to get away from teaching what I currently do for a living.
Attia puts out good content.
Such a good feeling when you finally win, though. The best I’ve managed is 3 challenges.
Shattered Pixel Dungeon with all 9 challenges active. I know there are a few people who have won the game with all 9, but my god is it hard.
My two cents having practiced several.
Almost all of them are useful in that they are a form of physical activity. They can keep you in good shape, and can also help you develop discipline.
Many are more art than practical. Arts like krav maga or kali are more geared towards practical use (self defense).
There is also a thing you can generally think of as “energy” that arts may have that often trend to make them not very practical against arts outside of themselves. For example, if a wing chun practitioner attempts to trap with you, and you’re a boxer, it just doesn’t work. It’s somewhat about range, but also the general “feel” of the art as well. JKD attempts to deal with this by teaching different arts that can be used within different ranges.
My one instructor also likened martial arts to technology, saying that they must evolve over time or just end up becoming ineffective for self defense.
The best thing to do in a situation, if you can, is to just escape. Your wallet is not worth your life.
I have a Pixel. I did not realize how bad this gets until work made me take an iPhone as my work phone. Holy hell. No amount of “Delete and report as junk” helps.
I bet he’s a fungi at parties.
Someone said that I “got skinny” (I’d lost a bunch of weight, on purpose). She meant it as a compliment, but in my mind skinny = underweight/malnourished, so I went out for lunch that day and ate a bunch of McDonald’s.
I have not, but I had a friend who always ended up getting apartments on the 3rd floor, and I helped him move several times. Would not recommend.
I guess I need to… catch up… on all the different spellings.
The plastic ones are super flimsy. So annoying.
Ketchup.
I like manga, but I dislike some anime. The voices they use for some of the characters are super annoying to me.
I never watched it, but I probably should. A friend recently sent me the diet soda scene. Eesh.
It also flips in Boost. I don’t think it’s a Sync specific thing.
