Nextcloud might be overkill, but it does have all those features and more. It’s literally made for organizations to keep track of contacts, documents, tasks, kanban like boards, notes and lots of other stuff.
They are not a company. Why would they want to “make a living” from it?
IIRC it also pulls item information from relevant (open API) databases, so you get the synopsis etc filled in?
Looks like it. I added a movie to a collection and it pulled in data from TMDB.
For me starting a new account that also made it kind of overwhelming.
Well, you can use/link a mastodon account if you already have one. Not sure if it supports lemmy accounts.
Hm, didn’t know of NeoDB. That’s a nice find, I’ve been looking for a way to list my collection online, that I could in theory self-host.
If you already have a Nextcloud instance you could try Cospend. It’s a nextcloud app, but looks really simple to set up.
Most of the relevant issues they link to has been closed and/or dealt with.
I’m sure one of the self-hosted RSS servers can do what you need. Look up TinyRSS, FreshRSS and the like.
Just about any RSS feed reader…
Beats me then. Network wise an external Wifi should follow the same rules as an external cellular connection.
In that case, are you sure the VPN is actually on, when on cellular?
While most have examples in their readme’s on Docker hub and Github, not all of them do, so I sometimes have to hunt down an example buried in their git repo somewhere. So a searchable page for popular self-hosted app docker compose files would be welcome.
I don’t think I’ve seen such a page anywhere else.
Hadn’t heard about this podcast before. Seems like short monthly episodes with about 4 in the backlog. Subscribed to see how I like it.
A reason I self-host stuff is privacy. When I host my data it’s my data. It’s not owned and kept by a billion dollar company somewhere, that is willing to sell it to make a quick buck.
So it’s my way of making sure that my data really is my data and that it is only shared with those I want to share it with. Some applications require a server component to achive this (eg Immich), so that’s why I self-host those.
I think Beszel fits most of those. Not sure if it can restart containers/services.
Same here.
Yeah. I would need the 5 TB one for my stuff, so that is the €11/month box.
True. I’d have to get the €11/month box for it though. It’s cheaper to set up one of my Raspberry Pi’s with an external drive I already have. I just need to figue out how it’s best to transfer and dedublicate the data. :)
I think what I need to do correctly on my homelab this year, is setup off-site backups. I currently only backup to seperate drives and machines inside my own home. I need to setup something at my parents place to take weekly and monthly backups.
Other than that, my media server needs a bigger storage drive.
Don’t most blog software provide rss feeds?
I know Ghost does, by just adding /rss to the link in question. So you can link to the whole blog, specific tags or even specific posts this way.
