I guess I meant not all of them and especially not at the same time but that wasn’t clear in my first post. I understand that a baseline is needed but if during daytime they’re generating excess constantly then shutting down a few wouldn’t hurt. Especially since Germany is one of the biggest offenders in the world when it comes to coal. Storage is definitely a concern but in case of surges there’s other power from neighboring countries that can help with the demand. Sodium ion batteries are looking like a good possibility.
They could always just close their coal power plants. Idk why they don’t.
YAY WORKING 6 DAY WEEKS AT 2ND SHIFT I LOVE NEVER BEING ABLE TO GO OUT AND DO SHIT LIKE KEEP MY FRIENDS AND BEING ABLE TO VISIT MY MOM AND DAD BUT THE COMPANY REEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLY NEEDS ME TO BE THERE SO TGE CEO OF ONE OF THE KARGEST COMPANIES IN THE WORLD CAN BUY THEIR 23RD BEACH MANSION THEYLL NEVER USE I FUCKING HATE THIS WORLD
Not just that but people just do not fucking care anymore. I have to walk into lots of large stores for my job and it’s almost every lot some asshole has to speed through so they don’t have to wait for somebody walking into the store. Even had some asshole run their car up right next to me then stop just before hitting me and when I stopped he was just smiling at me. Fuckers like that belong in jail threatening people with a vehicle.
You mean the terror I get from not knowing what is going to happen so I over plan and over estimate everything I’ll need is healthy? TIL
Not as much money if they did that.
Was thinking “what speculation”? An F-16 is going to draw a lot of attention very very quickly. Nobody is speculating because either they have them or they don’t and it’s not much of a secret.
I agree with the no holding up traffic law since it drives me crazy seeing someone in the left lane going 10 under but that doesn’t really work. Speaking from experience, many companies have drive cams that will tattle if they’re speeding, following too closely (ridiculous distances too, like 10+ seconds), braking too hard, accelerating too hard, not coming to full stops and sitting for at least 2 seconds, etc. With everybody wanting to drive 10+ over they tend to get aggressive towards people in these vehicles when they’re just trying not to get fired. It adds lots of frustration to the driver. Police should be enforcing speed limits first then those what I call “moving road obstacles”. If they’re not going to drive the speed limit then get the fuck out of the way.
Was going to say Russia says this, Russia says that but still far they haven’t followed up on any of it.
Huh? I admit I’m not really much of a cook but I’ve always chopped soaked in cold water then boiled in a fresh pot of water. They’ve never been gummy.
Right? All I got was a $25 check for food (that expires in 3 months) only. At least it’s slightly better than a $15 potato.
I figured my knowledge was outdated since mechanical solutions don’t exist as much anymore. I’m still on a 10 year old car.
I don’t believe so. The clicking is from the bimetal strip that flexes due to electrical resistance heating up the strip and repeatedly breaks then connects again as the metal cools and makes contact. A blown fuse would not send electricity to the blinkers to cause the rapid blinking. The reason it blinks faster with a blown bulb is there’s more voltage to the strip so it heats up faster and breaks the connection sooner but doesn’t allow it to heat up enough to cause a longer off delay.
Letting oil warm up for a bit. Why do you care?
How wide is the average Canadian? I think we can save on material costs if we add small gaps.
They just believe the earth and everything else is accelerating upwards. People that think like that should just be forced to go through all of school again because clearly their reasoning skills failed them.
Seriously. What is it going to take to get people to cancel? Stop paying overpriced fees until they bring them back down to cost that’s worth it. Otherwise they’ll just keep getting scammed and never stop. I just don’t get it. Don’t they understand how economics work or something? Or do they feel like they HAVE to have it?
If they want ads then fine, however for them to be acceptable there needs to be massive changes to how they are served. First curate them. Ads are a security risk and speaking from experience I can tell you it absolutely does happen even on popular sites. I got a nasty one once on an old XP machine I didn’t really care about once from opening Spotify. So it’s not just shady sites. Even Blizzard had a malware infected ad on their forums years ago.
Second, stop being so aggressive with them. I don’t need a product ad forcibly shoved down my throat. If they want a banner on the side showing something then fine as long as it’s not a bloated mess of JavaScript or before it was canned, flash. And ads should not be taking up 40% of the page and causing it to load 3 times slower.
Third, advertisers need to stop harvesting my data for their financial gain. If they’re going to sell my personal life then I deserve the majority of whatever they made off me. But they didn’t ask permission nor do they share so fuck them. I’ll do whatever I can do they get as little from me as they can. Advertisers are leeches and honestly should just be removed all together. I’ve never purchased anything because of an ad and there are several products and companies I refuse to support because their ads were so obnoxious to try and get my attention. If a product is good enough word of mouth will be plenty. It seems like most of the time the more annoying and more often I see it the shittier the product or service being sold is. And if they can waste that much cash on ads then then they should pay employees more instead.
I used to have a program called netlimiter (needed to throttle individual aop downloads on a shared WISP that was slow as balls). I bought a lifetime license like 10 years ago because I liked the software. A couple years ago they got rid of the old version and bumped me up to the new version. About a year ago I got an email saying something along the lines of “pay our new subscription fee or you lose your access” and basically put me on a trial account. I pirated their old version years ago to see if I liked the software enough after a couple months. I no longer use that software.
Another time I bought a lifetime access for a game on patreon. About 2 years later the dev switched to a subscription only fee to access all the new content and never released anything from updated versions to the older public release. So essentially I bumped down to a free tier of access to a game I paid for.
I will pirate until I die. Fuck these douchebags.
