ACLU and NPR are my top 2.
Ireland. I’m a firm believer that if you move to a region that speaks a different language, you need to make a genuine effort to learn that language. After having 3 years of foreign language (including a year of Gaelic when I lived in Ireland as a child for a year), I know it’s not my thing, so an English speaking country is a requirement for me. Ireland is gorgeous, and still in the EU. Scotland would also be top of the list if they split from the UK and joined the EU.
OkCupid was amazing 15 years ago, but it’s pretty shit now. For what OP is looking for, it’s probably still the best option, but it’s a very low bar.
OP, if you want to check out OkCupid, message me. I can set you up with a couple of browser scripts I wrote to improve the website experience. One will show you your matches’ photos. You won’t be able to view their profiles, but people that like you will generally show up in the profiles you’re shown pretty quickly, so it’s easy to find them. The other will need to be slightly tailored to you if you want to use it, but it will automatically skip any profiles that are showing to you that don’t meet your minimum requirements, and even alert you if one of them liked you instead of just skipping it, just in case you’d like to give it a closer look before you make a final decision.
Edit: Based on my experience the last time I was on the apps, the best one was Hinge, but I’ve been off of them for a year now. It’s also entirely app based.
“If that were true, I’d be trying even harder to make you take it.”
Mirroring what others have said, often even heavy sleepers have sounds there sensitive to that wake them up immediately. I had someone crash on my couch one night. I knew they had to be up in the morning for work, so I set an alarm for myself to make sure they got up too (this is right around when smartphones were starting to become a thing, and it wasn’t really common to have alarms set on your phone, hence why I was going through the extra effort for them). I woke up and went over to try and wake them up. First it was a soft nudge in the shoulder, then a harder one, then a shake, then grabbing them by both shoulders and aggressively shaking them. I literally stopped to check their breathing and make sure they hadn’t died on me. My roommate came out during this and was also laughing and wondering if they had died. I really had to use the restroom, so said I was going to do that and then come back and give it another go. While I’m in there, I hear their phone go off and my roommate starts laughing hysterically. Apparently as soon as the tone went off on their phone, they sat upright, wide awake.
Woman, I believe. If I recall correctly, they were intentionally bad.
I also switched to Thunder a month or two ago, and would recommend it. If Sync does ever get updated again, I will happily go back to it, but it doesn’t seem likely.
If you’re just looking for a cheap PVP FPS, why not try one of the many free ones like Fortnite?
Seriously? “Sexy outfit” is what passes for cosplay now? I don’t care if you want to sex up your cosplay, but make an actual fucking effort on the cosplay side.
I just moved to the Thunder app from Sync myself. Honestly, I still think the Sync UI is better, but I also know it’s pretty out of date. I know the dev often takes extended breaks, but I am tired of the complete lack of any communication. At this point, I have no reason to think that they are going to come back and push a newupdate for Sync. If they do, I will switch back, at least for a while.
Based on what you said, these are not required for you to do your job, only for you to improve your position. It is not unreasonable for you to use personal time for self-improvement. It’s also not unreasonable for you to use company downtime for self-improvement.
It’s entirely subjective. There is no singular answer.
I’d say it’s mostly racism and that many other polytheistic religions are still practiced. That’s a political can of worms that western studios likely don’t want to deal with.
This is why it’s so, so, so important for us to vote this November in the US! I’m proud of you, France!
Just to clarify, we are talking about Sync for Lemmy, not Sync for Reddit, correct?
That I’m not sure about. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
I went to work for a company in an entry-level, unskilled position. That company had a mentality of hiring from within and training for positions rather than hiring qualified external candidates. Because of that company, I managed to develop a career and am currently making over 6 times what I was earning when I started there 12 years ago. I’m no longer at the same company, but I am incredibly grateful for how lucky I was for things to fall into place the way they did.
