These woke windmills are out of control! We didn’t have storms like this when I was a kid before they started building those damned windmills!!!
(Just threw up in my mouth a little)

I lived on 187th for 7 years, just moved to Wheaton a couple months ago. NOW Mokena shows up somewhere?!? Lol
Where I’m at in Wheaton still doesn’t have power, and from what I hear with all the damage some places aren’t expected to till Friday.
I believe they had a typo entering their PIN. The property number is like 15 digits long with multiple hyphens. It was fine last year, but this year they got “wE cAn’T vErIfY yOuR pRoPeRtY tAxeS” .🙄
My son made a mistake on his state taxes and his return was rejected. The letter he got back basically said “we couldn’t verify your reported property taxes, so you can resubmit a correction or do nothing and accept our version of your taxes” (where he gets back about $200 less because of a typo.)
So, like, yeah. They’re just comparing your notes to theirs, with the default benefiting the state.
It depends? I know some people who have low tolerance to anything scary/horror or even intensely suspenseful and would lose sleep over some of the things I go to sleep listening to. I don’t truly scare easily, but there are some stories that under the right circumstances will creep me out enough to want some eye bleach before going to bed in the house alone. My favorite is when I have my earbuds set to noise cancelling and I really get into a story and think that someone else in the house is gone or sleeping, then I see them and scare the shit out of myself lol.
My brain initially thought that you weren’t acoustic.
Not sure what to do with that, so I’m awkwardly sharing.
Yep - if it’s an expense I have to pay monthly anyway and might as well use one card for my expenses then pay it off every month and reap the rewards points/cash back.
The radar technician? Dude, Matt straight up sucks.
Something I haven’t seen other commenters bring up that can have a huge impact, is the overall lifestyles people are living.
The unhealthiest years of my life were when I was working 2 jobs and struggling to keep a roof over mine and my 3 kids heads. Stress and depression were huge problems and money was tight, so sometimes the little bit of dopamine or serotonin from eating a “treat” were the highlights of the day. Add to that, the guilt of not being around to cook regular meals for my kids lead to 1) making large amounts of food on my one day off that could be eaten as leftovers throughout the week or 2) easy convenience foods (frozen pizzas, boxed Mac and cheese, etc) that the kids could make when I wasn’t around.
Fast forward many years - my kids are adults taking care of themselves and I’m down to 1 good job that offers financial stability. My diet and health have completely changed. I actually have the time and energy to cook and plan better.
I’m not saying this to shift blame or responsibility, but to bring a different experience. When I hear (hopefully well meaning) people suggest “just cook healthier meals” it strikes me about the same as “stop eating avocado toast and you could afford a house.”
“a ban on leashing an animal without a collar.”
Am I not awake enough and missing something? Are harnesses unacceptable? It’s someone doing something stupid that I haven’t heard of before?
I just ran out and needed more. Thank you for reminding me of this!
I support you on the moisturizing thing, but can’t follow you down the coconut oil road. I can’t stand the smell of coconut. Being someone who burns easily in the sun, I chalk it up to many years of smelling shitty fake coconut scented sunblock products.
As a massage therapist, I have to wash my hands constantly. During the colder months I have to moisturize or my skin cracks. Whatever unscented product that doesn’t leave me leaving greasy fingerprints all over the place is usually good enough until I wash my hands again in another hour.
If I’m ordering delivery I’m probably not in the greatest place either, but I’m not heartless.
“I’m sorry to hear you’re having a bad day. Bring me my food unscathed, and I’ll place a second order you can pick up and keep. What do you want to drink?”
I like your thinking.
Plenty have been fighting for it, but there’s an uphill battle against “but that’s socialism and socialism is evil!” and those that personally benefit financially who stand in the way.
