Politicians. Don’t get me wrong, we do need them, but I strongly oppose the existance of people who never did anything else.
I believe we’d be better off with a new set of randomly chosen citizen every so often. Kinda like jury duty.

I would be seen as downright evil if I do that.
Being downright evil is the secret ingredient to becoming rich. It doesn’t work for everyone, but all the richest people are evil.
It is a sound financial advice, but also a morally terrible one. It’s your call which of these is more important to you.
For all I care nazis could be hunted for sport. The problem is, neither I nor other people should decide who ‘deserves’ violence and who doesn’t. I’m not holding it against anyone to punch nazis, but I’d only do it to defend myself or others.
I still do sometimes, despite using DDG for about a decade now and working in IT myself. Haven’t met anyone who doesn’t say it in my area.
That’s what happens if you only care about engagement. Chauvinism of any kind is liked by a certain amount of people and despised by the rest of us - both positions drive engagement.
I’m honestly surprised, I would have expected a placebo effect in those who strongly care.
That’s not actually all that surprising. The far-right, at least in Germany, is far more prominent on social media. It sucks but I don’t think we can prevent that. We have a lot of complex problems but social media favors short answers instead of complex ones. A lot of younger people simply lack the critical thinking to see these simple answers for what they are - bullshit. And I can’t blame them, they have been exposed to this bullshit for most of their lives.
I’m surprised you needed to research that. How else would Turkey magically increase their oil exports that much? I assume people simply didn’t care. They had their symbolic ban and didn’t need to decrease their oil consumption.
I’ve heard about replacing eggs with applesauce to turn a baking recipe vegan. But the oil?
Also, if you don’t want an unholy amalgamation of way too much fat and sugar, why even go for brownies?
Trust me, most German public toilets are disgusting. Railway station toilets aren’t even free and a lot of them suck. The ones within a train? Even more disgusting. (If you’re lucky enough to find one that’s not closed for repair anyway.)
Hey, that’s Gina Rinehart, Executive Chairwoman of Hancock Prospecting! She recently sent me a mail about giving me ~$2.000.000, I should finally get back to her on that.
Aren’t there conervative teachers too? Based on their anwser, just going off what the image tells me, there are two possibilities:
Yes -> Being trans is what the children want, after all they are presented with both options. Not presenting the option denies them happiness.
No -> Being ‘woke’ is what comes naturally with education. There must have been something like the first ‘woke’ teacher and all the other educated people where like ‘Yes, he’s right.’. Conservatives should just educate themselves.
Back then things were more stringent and memes had fixed formats. The same set of pictures, posted over and over again with new text - I can see how one might dislike those. But nowadays the definition is kinda watered down and meme just boils down to “funny picture”, even if they are only posted once. I don’t think you can dislike those in their entirety without just disliking fun itself.
As far as I am aware only your nose and ears keep on growing, nothing with a bone in it does.
I don’t disagree necessarily, those are two different things in theory. However, my hobbies more or less cover everything I’m passionate about. At least the things I know I’m passionate about. Since most high paying jobs require certain degrees or years of training, and I’m also passionate about not starving, I could not actually try a lot of professions and therefore choosing something I liked recreationally was kinda implied, I thought.
“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
or
“Do what you’re passionate about.”
Just no. Most things I like don’t pay well and I started to resent the others while doing them professionally. Turning your hobby into your job is like setting your favorite song as your alarm. That’s my experience at least.
I have nothing but respect for people risking their lifes to fend off Russia. It is probably more important than any individual life.
That being said, I have nothing but sympathy for any draft-dodger. I couldn’t imagine fighting in a war and I myself would hide as well. That may change if I’d have kids, but even still, I would never wish upon anyone to be forcefully drafted.
My most downvoted one should be about Nintendo and Yuzu, I think. I don’t agree with some of their overly aggressive methods, but I argueed against emulation of the current gen and don’t think it is wrong for them to try and stop it (which of course didn’t work, that’s a different topic). Sucks for Citra and Pizza though.
Self-promotion, same as most other platforms. There are already people on here doing so. If you post your e.g. comics for free, there’s nothing wrong with linking your website or merch.
However, ads or other forms of monetization within the fediverse will most likely ruin it.
Continuity. Nothing ever matters with comics. Superman was a communist, a nazi, a zombie, a literal god and everything inbetween. But most commonly, he is about the same he was 50 years ago. Meanwhile I’ve been growing up alongside famous manga characters. I could be following Naruto to this day and he’d be roughly my age at most points.
Variety. I’m not into comics, I admit, but almost every popular comic I’ve seen is about some kind of superhero. Manga on the other hand have a wide range of topics and target audiences.
Accessibility. I can read a lot of manga right now. Offical, free and online (at least the most recent chapters). There’s no such thing for comics. And while we’re at it: Manga release at smaller chunks in shorter time intervals, which keeps more attention. Being black and white does help, I’d assume.
Anime. They are mass produced and serve to promote manga. There is no equivalent with comics and extended media like cartoons or movies and such often follow their own storyline. Assuming I’d be into the MCU, there is no single comic I could read to see exactly what’s next. If I watch a season of Jujutsu Kaisen, I can look up the correct chapter and continue the story seamlessly.
