Estrogen, yes. Trans guys are fucked if we’ve got to order testosterone off the internet.
I’ve never had the opportunity to go to Playalinda, but I do really miss Paradise Beach before the tourists found out about it.
That’s hilarious. I love the goofy Eurovision acts.
The Ukrainian entry in 2021 was probably my favorite Eurovision song ever, check out the version they did for the contest. Shum by Go_A.
I’d been thinking about joining Mastodon and I hadn’t decided which server to join, maybe I’ll join this one? But the question of do I want to see Threads content is a big one - there’s a few people I’d like to see, and there’s a lot that I really don’t.
Burning DVDs I’m not sure I get, CDs though? There’s still people driving cars that lack Bluetooth, and some people like listening to a whole album uninterrupted by phone distractions and there’s something nice about physical media - it makes sense for most of the reasons vinyl makes sense, it doesn’t, but it’s fun anyway.
A friend of mine did that with VHS, beta, cassettes, and 8tracks back in the day and got busted by the FBI.
I’m not French, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were mostly a tourist thing. I’ve had frog legs before at a fish camp in Florida, and I’m guessing the regulars didn’t normally eat them (although the gator tail was pretty good). They’re kinda slimy and chicken like, they’re a pain to eat, and there’s little meat on them. They’re just not worth the effort.
How long is it by train from Berlin or Frankfurt to Luxembourg City and does Luxembourg’s bill allow for sales to German residents? I know the Netherlands had been trying to restrict their weed sales to Dutch residents (and I’m not sure if they were successful), but is this a situation where people were already just making day trips to buy it so might as well make it legal?
No, Israel has nukes. The Jews have a space laser though, which is better. Netanyahu lost his space laser privileges a long time ago, I could maybe petition the Council to let The Gays have his time slot?
Sorry Canada
If they win the lottery, they’re the one who will be able to stay rich.
Yes we do, and it’s great.
By the standards of US and Canadian politics, yeah we’re to the left of center. But “center” has been dragged to the right so far that it’s prompting this whole argument. The Overton window had shifted so far that liberalism - which, in a current context, supports relatively unregulated capitalism and trickle down economics - there’s a whole swath of political ideologies that’s basically nonexistent within our modern day electoral politics. I’m somewhere in the anarchist range and choose to engage with electoral politics - if they chose to participate within the context of a FPTP voting system with two options, we’d find ourselves voting for the same candidate despite our likely highly differing political beliefs. In many countries that left wing is less smashed, the range of political discourse is much wider.
Shit just works is to the left side of, but comfortably within, the current Canadian Overton window. In a global sense, the instance is kinda to the right, in the same way that Bernie Sanders is moderate by western European standards.
