All jobs require skill. A minimum wage job done by someone with a lot of experience will be better, faster, and more reliable than someone you hired out of high school/college.

Totally agreed. There are licenses that you need to be able to perform a job that could endanger you or others. That never changes. Some jobs require more study, and more prep time before going solo with (e.g. Doctor), but all jobs are skilled.

You are correct to some extend, but there are jobs that are (and always should be) licensed, like electrician or doctor.

Software engineers are among the best paid employees, and are not licensed.
