Selfishly selling out others doesn’t require a lot of mental capacity. I doubt Cypher had to scheme his way into his deal.

I’m saying Cypher was probably offered a deal, which even a drooling moron can accept.
That scene where Cypher is eating a steak and wondering what the real thing tastes like, except his is well done and slathered with ketchup.
