I have had multiple accounts through 15 years on reddit but reddit has become hardcore ban happy and I’ve stopped even trying to get around it at this point and have stopped using the site completely.
So what was the dumbest reason you were banned?
Mine was going into a far right sub that was discussing lord of the rings, for some reason lotr is huge with the far right including the current vp. Anyway all I did was post lotr sucks and a video link to clerks 2 where Randall tells Elias and the customer that the movie is nothing but walking and that the true ending should be frodo bricking into Sam’s mouth.
I got reported and site wide permabanned from a far right sub for gay bashing when the intent was anything but that. That’s when I noticed the glory days of reddit were starting to fade.
Ya I was a long time digg user, even after the changes and everyone left for reddit I still hung around for a year or two. I’m excited to see what digg becomes and hopefully keep it far right free.
I never used any social until a few years ago
I watched reddit slip from right-wing to “genuinely quite concerning”
From outside the US, it was always right-wing, despite the cries of the bots, incels and trolls, but it deteriorated really quickly
There’s already a few obvious agitators on the new Digg platform, so hopefully when it goes live for real they don’t get a foothold
I have low expectations though…
Reddit was very left leaning until Trump them slowly it became a Nazi haven
Only by 'Murican standards, I assure you
It was always very American, and right wing
But it definitely took a turn to the absolutely shitty
Of course, most of the users are yanks, so they really won’t notice
