The City Council members’ call for reform comes after a ProPublica investigation revealed that NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban had repeatedly short-circuited disciplinary cases against officers accused of abuse.
The fact that the commissioner has this power in the first place and that they even have to ask is ridiculous to me, it’s like “Camp Crystal Lake residents suggest disarming Voorhees’ artillery”
I guess I can see that, it is ridiculous. The difference is that this news comes across as completely believable to me instead of as skirting the line of believability like a “proper” post would do.
