Why do supermarkets stupidly pay rent in Manhattan, London, LA or Singapore when they could pay next to nothing to have a store in the Outback or Siberia?

Because they want the users who are using WhatsApp, and their population is not using telegram. Business decision is about money, you go where you can make the money

That explains why the company wants the users. He asked why do people use whatsapp?

They didn’t say that. They said why do people pay for WhatsApp business. That implies they want a business account. That implies they went access to a certain customer base

Depends on the country. In some countries, businesses are on Telegram. In others, they’re on Facebook Messenger. Sometimes they’re on Viber.

It’s all about the platform customers use. If you’re trying to sell stuff to a market segment where everyone uses WhatsApp, using Telegram would be pretty much useless.

That said, plenty of shady people here seem to use Telegram as a means of communication rather than WhatsApp, which 90% of the population uses. Why you’d use an inherently insecure platform like Telegram for selling drugs is beyond me when apps like Signal exist, but I guess people buying illegal drugs commonly have Telegram installed?
