    There was an article like two weeks ago which claimed Israel actually did accept the deal, believing Hamas would reject it so they could use it as reason to start the Rafah invasion.

    Except Hamas immediately accepted, which led to some cheering in Gaza, which quickly ended after Israel invaded Rafah anyway.

    I think the source was some anonymous officials invovled with brokering the negotiation, so it might be true.

    At best I would expect such agreements to slow down the genocide against Gaza for a few days. Human groups have degenerated into hatred in the worst of history … since about 10k years. A genetic reproductive advantage was gained by violent victorious warrior monsters (as an example Gensis Khan is said to have had many descendants). Eventually humanity will need some type of widespread gene therapy to get rid of our band bad tendencies … i know all that is a broad oversimplification, but still.
