  • I was in the same boat. Then I watched “The Offer” last year. It’s a really good tv show. It’s a drama about the making of The Godfather and you wouldn’t believe what it took to get the movie made!

After that I wanted to watch the movie and did. And got so much more out of it.

Sure the show has some movie spoilers but those spoilers are so part of pop culture and you probably know them already.

  • Hey. Let me walk you through the Donnelly nut spacing and crack system rim-riding rip configuration. Using a field of half-C sprats, and brass-fitted nickel slits, our bracketed caps, and splay-flexed brace columns vent dampers to dampening hatch depths of one half meter from the damper crown to the spurve plinths. How? Well, we bolster twelve husk nuts to each girldle-jerry, while flex tandems press a task apparatus of ten vertically composited patch-hamplers. Then, pin-flam-fastened pan traps at both maiden-apexes of the jim-joist.

  • I’ve come to this thread late and everyone is mentioning pretty obviously good shows which won awards etc. But there are 2 criminally underrated shows which were just phenomenal when I watched them:

The Americans - in my opinion it should be up there with the other big shows like The Sopranos and The Wire etc.

The Patriot - tv series … not the stupid Mel Gibson movie. Amazing premise and probably not as popular because of a stupid name and Amazon.

Oh and bonus show: The Bear. But it’s getting the accolades it deserves… so knew it would be good going in

  • Are you sure it’s worn out and not just dirty. Gunk and fluff from your pockets get in the port over time and each time you plug a cable in it pushes the gunk down to the bottom.

Eventually there’s so much crap in there the cable doesn’t push in fully anymore and doesn’t “grip”.

You can simply clean it with something small and non-metallic like a tooth pick. I usually cut a little sharp sliver off a plastic guitar pick.

Get to the bottom and scrape it all out. Try to avoid damaging the contacts in the middle.

It was like I had a new phone when I did this. And yeah a lot of dirt can build up in 2 years.

  • I think it’s also important to note that the learner and provisional drivers need to have a sign clearly on their vehicle to indicate their level: a yellow L, red P or green P.

This helps you show some patience to L platers and also give red P plater dickheads in tradie utes who love tailgating a wide berth.

They also have different speed limits. L isn’t allowed to exceed 80km/h, red P 90km/h and green P 100km/h.

Most national motorways have 110km/h limits so you end up having to dodge L plate drivers with a 30km/h speed differential to you. I think while well intentioned the speed limit rules are more dangerous than they help.
