I was recently at the airport in Amsterdam, going from San Francisco to Berlin. The EU passports line (like always) was non existent while the non EU line was nearly an hour long. I almost missed my flight (and my checked bag did) but it was totally worth it to see all the pissed off Brits complaining about having to wait.

I am almost 40, and have been a VP of Engineering at multiple silicon valley based tech companies. Still I have an uncle who I’m quite sure doesn’t trust me to touch any of his computers because in the 90s I definitely bricked more than a few of his PCs by fucking around and finding out.

Edit although rereading OP I feel 90% of the vagabond / dirty kid / oogle folks I’ve known have all had on and off hard drug and mental health issues at a way higher percentage than the normal population.

Do people really do home repair or upgraded on laptops in 2024 though? Desktops sure, but I haven’t found laptops to be particularly amenable to home upgrade since the early 2000s.
