  • That’s okay with me, but is there at least one meeting that requires me? Only having managers in the office could allow one to have an office ten times smaller, and no other people are needed there anyway (or live in a thousand miles radius from the office, since all the managers live in the costly city in the costly state, and the most of others are not even in the States)

Yeah, and a couple of people I know who were consistently reported to be robots because they’ve been shown captcha too much and as a result solved it too well. Which in turn led to more captcha and improved solving speed. Well, you see the problem, I guess

  • This happens not only with Turks. I can’t wrap my mind around the reasons people living out of the country for a long time support the government causing problems to others, support it so much, and sometimes even tell their fellow emigrants to go back because they are making everything worse.

I’ve seen examples of people who can’t quite explain why they support the government in their homeland that they left when they were around 5 y.o. and never returned.

I just came to think that it’s simpler to love any country from afar, and especially so if you listen to what said country chooses to broadcast outside

  • I thought humanity had encountered some common sense and most devices aren’t six inches big. I was wrong

I think, I remember how ridiculously large Samsung Galaxy Note 8 felt when it was 6"+ in 2017. Now pretty much every phone is larger, even my old Honor 20 pro appears to be larger than 6".

I still think a phone should allow the user to reach every part of a display with a thumb, but yeah big screen fits more porn memes at a time

  • From the first link, that’s unexpectedly about last autumn:

It makes us worried about our future. How could we not be scared?

So very true, but the hypocrisy of the defendants is overwhelming:

The government in Greece – a country which has just experienced a deadly summer of heat, fire and storms – said in its response: “The effects of climate change as recorded so far do not seem to directly affect human life or human health.”

Edit: it was a bit hard to find the outcome of Portuguese claimants’ case, but it appears to be rejected:

The European Court of Human Rights rejected two other, similar cases on procedural grounds — a high-profile one brought by Portuguese young people and another by a French mayor that sought to force governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
