A digital calendar that actively reminds me of upcoming events. I put my whole life in my calendar: chores, appointments, work, social stuff, etc. I would probably forget to go to something if my phone didn’t tell me it was happening soon.

Ooo, I like this. But there would need to be checks to make sure it isn’t abused. You wouldn’t want some troll community saying it’s associated with gaming, or any similar scenario.
Nice dog! Can I shoot it for you?
Please strike targets inside Russia… pretty please?
-Cameron, probably
Planet Money has a great episode explaining this. They’re manipulating the value of the Argentinian Peso and no one’s buying it, quite literally.

Wow, people just want to be mad. That makes me so mad! 😆
Yes, I can see that. Your argument is correct. I should have clarified, I meant “how will this help politically?” Any gun owner will look at a ban on assault rifles and laugh because it’s just a sliver of all the kinds of guns. If you really want to make a gun shoot lots of bullets, you don’t need an assault rifle.
Source: me, I live in the South and I’ve shot guns my whole life, although I don’t own any myself. I know several people with guns that would laugh at an assault rifle ban.
He also urged Congress to take action on “the scourge of gun violence” by banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
I don’t see how this would help. What’s to stop someone from getting dozens of handguns and switching when they run out of ammo?
In Soviet Russia, Wikipedia forks you!
Thank you for all your hard work
I noticed it said “Moist” at the top left, perhaps it is https://moist.catsweat.com/ ?
Personally, I’ve found a fairly wide breadth of viewpoints on Lemmy. Perhaps what you’re experiencing is the stress that diversity brings? It’s a well-known effect of engaging with different viewpoints.
As my counselor keeps trying to get me to do: sit with your discomfort for a few minutes before reacting or taking any action. Think about your feelings and where they’re coming from.
Social science research suggests that people tend to react with anger and irritation when confronted about their biases—particularly when those biases are accurately labeled as such. Although such interactions may be unpleasant, they also tend to lead to behavioral change, and so should be welcomed as opportunities for growth. Bias is a measurable condition, but it is not a permanent one, on either the individual or the organizational level. By acknowledging it we can counter it, expanding our pool of potential collaborators and improving financial performance.
Yep, it’s simply a case of confirmation bias. Like how the so-called “Spanish” flu most likely originated in the US but the US suppressed news about it due to WWI. It was perceived as Spanish in origin but mainly because only Spain was reporting on it. https://www.history.com/news/why-was-it-called-the-spanish-flu
Wow this is awesome! I especially like the new inbox, it looks spectacular.
I do have a feature request, is this the right place to make it? I would like to be able to turn off infinite scroll. When I get to the bottom of a page, I want it to stop loading and require me to hit a button to load more content. There are already the page indicators, so really just need a toggle for infinite scroll.
Wow, Boeing just can’t catch a break. Of course all of these events have their own causes, but having Boeing’s name attached to all of them creates a thread in people’s minds.
I just installed 106 and I’m still seeing orange when swiping comment to up vote.
Google Calendar. I know, I know, say goodbye to privacy. I do want to switch to something like Proton or even self-host, but I’ve built up more than a decade of muscle memory and habits with Google.
