Have to disagree about the versatility of the 1/4 inch impacts. The electricians who wired my house used impacts to drill holes. You can get a 1/4 inch drill chuck adapter for an impact too. A drill is a must have, but impacts drive screws better, hands down and loosen stubborn or rusty bolts that are impossible for ratchet wrenches. Also, if you spring for a complete set, get the brush-less tools - they are awesome.
Good advice, except a quarter inch 18 volt impact is way more useful. I use mine almost daily. Impact drivers drive and remove screws much better. In fact get a complete set of decent 18 volt tools. You will use the shit out of them.

All corporate news has been moved to the right, even NPR. For all practical purposes, local news has been eliminated. Local news formed the basis for trust and truth. Getting you news at a local ground level creates trust - you may know the reporter or you kids go to school with his kids.
There is nothing wrong with news bias if you have sources that you can trust to report the truth and not omit critical information.
That said, seek out and listen to people like Timothy Snyder, who have important messages. Here’s a clip of him talking about how the internet has changed and corrupted our news and views.

Exactly. It really depends on the person though. Some people lack imagination and motivation while others keep exploring and opening new doors. Foraging, grafting and no plow, no till gardening are my latest interests.
