For sure. Responding is the natural thing to do. But, for me at least, I end up reading every response and deciding if I’m safe to just remove the first reported comment, or every child comment, or a mix.
Maybe some mods just delete the parent comment and all children to keep it simple, but I try to weigh each response fairly.
You’re probably better off not interacting with the content that you’re reporting.
I’ll second this. Responding to the problematic content usually just leads to a lot more problematic content that the mods need to sort through.

Can cost anywhere from about $20 to $100+ I’d say depending on the amount/type of alterations you need and whether the tailor is particularly expensive.
I started college in 2007, and I only had a laptop.
The worst I’ve seen is some spam and some petty name calling.
Aw shucks
I was never a mod at Reddit. But I’m a mod here for a few communities. I try to be as “hands off” as possible, and step in only when needed. It’s been 7 or 8 months as a mod, and I have not yet banned anyone…
This may sound cliche, but practicing meditation and mindfulness. The key is to be able to acknowledge and accept that you’re having a thought about something, but then divert your mind to the present if it is not a “now” problem.
This is the answer for me too. I don’t really use the salt shaker at restaurants. But, more often than not, we cook our own food at the house and use salt as necessary.
Dad of two kids and two shedding dogs here. Following because I, too, could use some advice. Thanks for asking the question.
