I’ve been using them for about 15 years now. Started when I self hosted at home with the free service and even though I moved to a VPS I still use them ($32 USD / year, dedicated TLD, dedicated IP). I can add redirects, temp static landing page, etc etc.

I’ve had a SINGLE outage of their service in that time.

They also have free services as well, dynIP clients for Win & Lin, and their shit works. Most DD-WRT / OpenWRT images also support it.

The god damned SCOTUS needs deep and meaningful reforms.

Because I live full time off-grid aboard a cruising sailboat. So when i pack things up to ship them for LT storage I want to make damn sure they survive and any trapped moisture won’t mold over on a platter.

Then I just have it changed out as the storage is in Tampa , Florida US and you can’t be too careful.

I use HGST and/or WD whenever possible. My off-site drives go into a sealable box with a desiccant that gets replaced every 6 months or so.

You do you. I’m an American who bought a small sailboat and moved aboard full-time to leave the US for exactly the same reason. I don’t hate the US, I would never betray the US, but at the same time I’m not comfortable staying here.
