Switching to LiFePo and making the batteries easy to swap along a trip, is a better way to reduce fires.
Or solid state maybe? Not sure how flammable they are, but I know LiFePo are much lower risk than standard lithium ion (Nickle cobalt or whatever Tesla and the big Chevy trucks use )

I think upped popcorn still might be cheaper if you have an air popper. Way purest waste plastic and you can make a huge volume of the stuff in just a few minutes.
I know a guy who filled his friend’s Saab with popcorn during a prank war back in the 90s. It kinda ended the whole thing I think, and there was always more popcorn in that poor car.

There might be a couple stretches in Ohio, but this isn’t one. There’s a spotin Massachusetts that’s like 60 miles round trip if you miss the exit, and it’s a tiny state!
Yup 5-6 floppies and if one failed you could try to go back and copy one, but usually had to start over.
I got the Mac copy of Photoshop 4 from my high school this way with .sit files. It was like second to last floppy that failed (probably an ok AOL disk) and I had to go back the next day and copy it again. But it worked!
Not long after that a friend of mine got a ZIP drive, but it wasn’t SCSI, so it didn’t work with my computer. I didn’t get one until college (essential for a graphic designer in the late 90s).

Humidity in the air makes that wayyy more dangerous because your skin will be highly conductive and the lower the resistance, the higher the current (which is what really hurts).
I’ve been a human grounding strap a couple times and don’t recommend it. I think the vibrating pain of AC (someone reenergized the outlet on me) is worse than the punch of high voltage (failing spark plug wire I grabbed with metal pliers while diagnosing a misfire).

I’m guessing a bit here, but it was a really dominant format at the time, and in the later years of the series, would have been a digital format at 720x486 resolution.

I’ve been thinking of setting up a node at my local ski area, both for others to use, but also to make custom timing equipment that can send start and finish messages to the timing computer and keep us from having to haul wires up icy race courses all winter.
I’ve never actually set one up or used one yet though, so it’s probably a few years off.
