  • I third this! I saw title and came to say.

It’s actively being developed still, I get emails like once every 1–3 weeks, sometimes more. Sometimes less.

I use docker desktop for this. I also lowkey learned how to set up a multi-database for this at one point, but kinda stopped after I got it working. More to see if I could.

I also tried bare metal building this, but had shit luck. It’s been a couple years though. Docker just makes it easy as hell.

I still keep all the originals separate just in case, and the tool can help you make multiple copies too (like PDF-A). I’ve never needed to go back and use those though, as Paperless just works so well once you get the hang of it and how you want your data stored.

I picked a structure that kind of lets me find stuff easily even if the tool is not running (like just by folder structures).

I’ve yet to make this online available for obvious reasons. But it would be nice to be able to pull up pretty much any document you need, any time.

Any suggestions on safe web access quickly from a phone might be helpful (WireGuard maybe?) if you have them.

  • I just dumped pcloud. Also a surprising increase in fake pcloud emails trying desperately for me to click them. My email provider flags them over real pcloud ones. Still. Someone is spamming the shit out of me for that. I’d say pcloud isn’t worth sticking with.

Edit: For clarity, I never trusted them. Anything I had there was protected with 2FA login and also I used Cryptomator. Still, I am not keeping anything there any longer.

  • Education.

No for real, a lot of right-wing thinking comes from just parroting disinformation and being in their own echo chamber circles.

Educated people are more likely to ‘lean left’:

Environment: Higher education institutions often emphasize critical thinking, questioning of traditional norms, and exposure to diverse perspectives. This can lead individuals to adopt more progressive or liberal views.

Diversity: College and university settings are typically more diverse, exposing students to different cultures, ideas, and lifestyles.

Rationalism: Educated individuals may place a higher value on scientific reasoning and empirical evidence, which can align more with policies and positions typically associated with the left, such as support for climate change action and public health initiatives.

Perspective: Higher education can lead to an understanding of economic inequality and systemic issues. Educated individuals might support policies aimed at reducing inequality and improving social welfare.

Career: Many educated individuals work in fields such as academia, healthcare, and social services, where left-leaning values like equity, public good, and social justice are prevalent.

Generational: Younger generations, who are more likely to be college-educated today than in the past, tend to have more progressive views on social issues, such as LGBTQ+ rights and racial equality.

Education is also ‘pushed’ by a lot of adults when I was a kid. I thought it was kinda normal / lame because duh, of course it’s important. I didn’t get grasp deepl WHY until I was older and realized it’s really a root causal issue of today’s problems.

  • My weight fluctuates. Sometimes I bloat up from medicine. Sometimes I can’t eat and lose weight. I can’t seem to just be me and be happy and have people like me no matter what my weight is. It is really frustrating going through your whole life hating your body because of external standards.

“Don’t care what other people think.”

Ok yeah well when you feel like people stare at you and silent judge you all the time, and internally you do the same thing to others and hate yourself even more for being part of the problem.

It’s constant brainwashing of the ‘ideal body’ when the reality is people come in all shapes and sizes. It’s hard to change that mindset when all the ads you see around you tell you differently.
