The problem I’ve found is that liberals will say that “Now is not the right time” all the time and there never ends up being a right time to talk about it. It feels like a cycle of right before the election so can’t talk about, right after the election so can’t talk about since they haven’t had time to address it, then the midterms are coming up so can’t talk about it, then right after the midterms they don’t have the power to address it anymore so can’t talk about it, then the presidential election is coming back up again so can’t talk about it. There’s also the fact that more people pay attention during election seasons so talking about it then allows you to reach the most people. And at the end of the day all it would take to get these people on your side would be to oppose the genocide. It would have some impact but I would say the majority of voters who care about Israel enough to change their vote based on it were probably already voting Trump with how pro Israel he is, so you would be gaining many more voters than you lose.

I mean I don’t know a ton about SQL but one thing to keep in mind about SSNs is they were not originally meant to be used for identification but because we have no form of national id and places still needed a way to verify who you are people just started using SSNs for that since it’s something everyone has and there wasn’t really a better option. So now the government has been having to try and make them work for that and make them more secure. The better solution would be to make some form of national id that is designed to be secure but Republicans and people like Musk would probably call that government overreach or a way to spy and track people.

Personally I think it’s fine to do that. Better that you get that money then either some right wing person who is gonna use it to promote their horrible causes more or some right wing company gets it and does that on a bigger scale.

I think in that case it makes sense to knock but in most cases if I see a single use bathrooms with the little occupied in red or vacant in green lock indicator on it I’m just gonna assume it’s free if it’s not locked and open it. I haven’t been burned by that yet because in most situations people will lock them when using them.

Nothing I said above says there won’t be an agreement. I could see an agreement happening especially with the situation in the US and the ICJ considering warrants. That doesn’t change why they negotiate with Hamas and not the people.

What part of that is conspiracy? Israel is using Hamas as justification for their genocide in the region. If Israel negotiated with the people of Gaza (in whatever form that would take) rather than Hamas it would invalidate what they’ve been doing. Negotiating with Hamas continues projecting the false image that they’re after just the terrorists when they’re pretty clearly going after civilians as well.

Yeah because that legitimizes Hamas and let’s them keep using the reasoning that their cleansing of Gaza is to go after Hamas. Letting a terrorist group have a platform just makes them look better cause they can keep going see how bad these guys are, we have to kill everyone there to get rid of them.

That would be nice but Palestinians never get a seat at the table when it comes to talks about things in the region. They were left out of the Abraham accords which was meant to normalize relations in the region with Israel and they’ll be left out of this because Israel wants to keep being able to steam roll them. Not let them have any kind of platform or position to be able to negotiate.

I generally agree with you, I think the one part I disagree on is the why Republicans go along with this. Sure some of it is because of the purity testing kind of stuff but a lot of it is just because the Republicans for the longest time have paid lip service to these issues but never done anything about them. Like with abortion for example. But then you have someone like Donald Trump come in who is just like, well why don’t we do all these crazy things. And that is what emboldened more people like him, with no experience in politics and no understanding that you can’t actually give the base the way out there stuff without alienating the general public, to run for election and start winning in very red areas. So it’s less of a pressure on the party from the outside to start following this new MAGA movement (although that does exist too) and more of an internal transformation of the party under Trump.

I don’t think this is exactly right. For the longest time Republicans were the same way, dangling a carrot of doing something to get votes but never actually doing it. I think Donald Trump has emboldened a lot of people to run for office that don’t understand that you don’t actually give the base what they want cause it makes you deeply unpopular with everyone else.

The point is to sell that to the Russian people to build support for continuing the war.

It wasn’t just Russia who was saying that wasn’t gonna happen, basically everyone outside the US thought it wouldn’t happen cause it would be a really stupid thing to do. Then it turned out they did it and it was really stupid and I think a lot of people were surprised the US was telling the truth and it wasn’t just fearmongering.

I mean generally I think it’s cause the people who start these more creative focused companies like video games have a bunch of things they want to do but can’t because of money. But when they get lots of money suddenly they’re able to do all these cool ideas and hire the staff to make them happy. Then just naturally as companies get bigger they become harder to manage and the CEO who probably was just wanting to do creative stuff now is managing stuff instead so a new CEO comes in and that’s when things start to become more profit focused and start to go bad. Or just when the original owners get greedy and take it public to try and make even more money.

I don’t think the person who posted this was complaining about having to do work at all. They were complaining about how much work needs to be done and for how long you have to do it and for the fact that you can’t enjoy the reward at the end of it cause you’re too old to do stuff. Which are all valid complaints and at the end of the day comes down to greedy corporations trying to milk workers for every last penny of value they can get from them for as long as possible. Times have changed a lot since many of our norms about 40 hour work weeks and retirement ages were established, and since then workers are much more efficient. So I think it’s good to discuss changing these things to take some of those benefits from increased efficiency and give that value to the workers rather than just letting the corporations take it for their profits and investors.

Even if it’s not completely accurate it does seem to at least somewhat work for newer videos if they’re popular enough. I’ve seen videos that aren’t liked based on comments and discussion on other platforms have a high amount of dislikes.

The only reason they’re that bad is cause it’s what people click on. I do agree they look terrible but it’s what draws people in.

I mean maybe not take actions that caused groups like this to gain power in the first place. Constantly bombing and attacking a place is a great way to empower groups like this in an area.
