Multiple approaches have been suggested - from local multiplayer (which can potentially be extended to the internet) over releasing server binaries or source code, to providing documentation that allows to recreate a server.
Totally reasonable moderation policy tbh
How come you instantly believe this narrative?
Have you considered that you can be attracted to more than one thing, and that this may evolve over time? You don’t expect people to be like ‘I’m gay now’ at age 12 and then automatically have zero interest in anything else, do you?
Cotton topper / mattress protector. Helps to catch and distribute heat and moisture. In my experience also improves sleep quality
Not sleeping like… Right now
As someone who has used Python and Rust professionally, I’d say Python, while memory-safe, lacks proper type-checking. I don’t know if there are alternatives, but Pylance is straight up trash. Also Python’s performance doesn’t even compare to Rust. It’s a great scripting/programming language, but I think it’s use cases are vastly different.
I’d say whether Python counts depends a lot on what you want to do. I have a very strong opinion on using Python for complex projects. When it comes to performance, it’s suitable as nothing more than glue-code.
Came her to say this. Safe programming languages? Yes, plenty. Safe and low-level? Well, modern C++, kinda, if you do your homework and follow some rules. I don’t know any other tbh.
Second this. What you need for high quality media is space, not speed. For any single stream, network and drive will be fast enough anyway. Your typical HDD offers like 4-6 times the bandwidth that a regular Blu-ray can provide. You can get 8TB HDDs for the price of 2TB SSDs. Random access doesn’t matter for that application.
You might want to invest in redundancy and use a RAID 1 or RAID 10 array, depends on how valuable that media is to you or how long it would take to recover in case it’s lost. A simple solution would be a btrfs software RAID, in case your are after something like a Linux home media server with Jellyfin.
I have a facemask with active coal in it. Still feels weird to look in the mirror with it, but posting that to Twitter without context is sure to give you some interaction.
Seriously tho, some people try so hard to feel offended, it’s embarrassing.
Tons of people making Python comparisons regarding indentation here. I disagree. If you make an indentation error in Python, you will usually notice it right away. On the one hand because the logic is off or you’re referencing stuff that’s not in scope, on the other because if you are a sane person, you use a formatter and a linter when writing code.
The places you can make these error are also very limited. At most at the very beginning and very end of a block. I can remember a single indentation error I only caught during debugging and that’s it. 99% of the time your linter will catch them.
YAML is much worse in that regard, because you are not programming, you are structuring data. There is a high chance nothing will immediately go wrong. Items have default values, high-level languages might hide mistakes, badly trained programmers might be quick to cast stuff and don’t question it, and most of the time tools can’t help you either, because they cannot know you meant to create a different structure.
That said, while I much prefer TOML for being significantly simpler, I can’t say YAML doesn’t get the job done. It’s also very readable as long as you don’t go crazy with nesting. What’s annoying about it is the amount of very subtle mistakes it allows you to make. I get super anxious when writing YAML.
The thing is, it was already known they were in contact and the politician in question claimed he did nothing sketchy. So he’s not only corrupt, or a traitor to our country, or (most likely) both, he also already publicly lied about it and there is supposedly evidence he actually accepted money. This makes things much worse for him.
His party also already claimed it’s a smear campaign, so if there really is evidence, they’ll look pretty stupid as well (although this really isn’t news).
Are you seriously saying that the guy who was in contact with a Russian propaganda outlet was involving with Russia?
I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you!
On the bright side I really appreciate how many people speak out against Israel. I feel like their government has finally abused the “you’re either for us or antisemitic” card enough for people to stop caring about that bs.
Truth is that government never really wanted peace and many Israeli didn’t either. Not that Hamas is any better. The point is there are no good guys here. Just idiots and criminals and civilians who are being slaughtered because of the former.
I love how these fuckers have a Wikipedia article that’s like: “Yup. Their nickname sums it up. These are fucking motherfuckers that do nothing but look pretty. Do not touch them, do not keep them, they are just mean fuckers.” And they stress that ‘fucker’ part like 4 times.
