When someone who is really exasperated exclaims “Jesus Christ!” I respond with, “yes my child?”
When someone says “this is really X” “You know what else is X? something about you, your mother, etc.
If I wasn’t locked into this contract with my house I would be applying for work programs in New Zealand on my way to citizenship. When Trump was elected, the first thought that went through my head was, I don’t like winter, so Canada and the Nordics are out. Europe is 0-2 for getting destroyed in World Wars and WW3 is heating up. Africa has its own problems right now, as does South America, and regardless of where you go in Asia it’s not looking good for WW3. So options were Central America or Oceania. I know passable amounts of Spanish, and lived in Central America for a while and I would definitely be OK going back. But if I’m going to move somewhere might as well be somewhere new.
The only person I know who supports these actions is literally known around my neighborhood as crazy Mike, because he’s crazy. He also openly admits he’s hypocritical, as he will condemn an action democrats do, but praise the same actions if they’re done by republicans. He knows he’s hypocritical but doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Like I said he’s crazy.
When I was in college and everyone was talking about where they grew up, and I realized I only remembered bits and pieces of growing up, and those were always when my parents weren’t around. Some online searching later and a talk with a therapist, and I don’t talk with my parents anymore. It’s better that way.
In theory, however the ability to break up the year into smaller chunks is very handy for our monkey brains. Small number easy, big number hard.
I would love to be on the international fixed calendar, but the rest of the world would look at me weird.

Depends on what kind of ai and how much control you want over it. There are some consumer stuff like adobe or elevenlabs, but if a professional is using ai it’s likely either waves or izotope as they give way more control. Personally I use waves, their clarity pro plugins are amazing, but I know several people who use izotope as well.
The problem is doing it in real time and having it sound halfway decent. The only companies who have managed that is waves and Yamaha, the later of which requires hardware that costs $70k+.
During the era where the Westboro Baptist Church was protesting soldiers funerals, they weren’t allowed to enter private property, but they could be on public property.
One of the guys I went to school with died and we got word that WBC was going to be protesting his funeral. Everyone who could parked on the street that day and took up every public parking area, stores and churches closed their parking lots so they could “repaint” or “resurface”, the local national guard, ems, firefighters, and police, had a coordinated “community outreach” where they shuttled people to the graveyard because we had done such a good job of blocking every parking spot that you would have had to walk for about 6 miles to get to the graveyard. Finally the local biker gang escorted in the hearse and parked at the entrance so when the protesters showed up they just revved their bikes until the protesters left.
We never heard the protesters but we did have to pause the funeral for about 15 minutes until the protesters realized the biker gang wasn’t going to let them be heard.
DM here. Had a classic dungeon crawl going and the party came against some Kuo-Toa. The Kuo-Toa rolled really poorly against the bards major illusion, so now the party are the mouthpieces of the Kuo-Toa god Blibdoolpoolp.
Currently Verizon, because my work pays for it. Previously Visible. Because it’s cheap.
How to people.
I have great ideas and am horrible at explaining them.
Because at lower frame rates your eyes don’t add motion blur. So you use the processing power to add it. If I had a higher refresh rate monitor I wouldn’t need motion blur.
Only for very specific games, and only because I don’t have a high refresh rate monitor.
If I’m in Forza driving 200 km/h I shouldn’t be able to see the bricks I’m flying past. With my low refresh rate monitor I can, so adding just a hint of motion blur really helps add that flourish of immersion that I can’t get with my setup. But that’s again very specific games and only because I cap out at 60fps.
I always say everyone should see requiem for a dream, but no one should watch it. That film does more for stopping drug abuse than any government program ever did.
No, but I donate time and sometimes items. I’ve seen how wasteful so many “charities” are. When less than half of what is donated actually goes to the end user that’s a problem. So I donate things that have to go to the end user, or at the very least in support of the end user.
You can also get all in one’s that both wash and dry in a single unit if space is a concern. They tend to be a bit pricier because it’s literally two functions in one item but not terrible.
I work AV and have worked many of these events on both sides of the aisle. Presidents, VP’s, presidential hopefuls, the whole gamut. The democrats tend to be less organized but way more friendly and accommodating, the republicans are very their way or the highway, but tend to have all their ducks in a row. As far as attending you hear someone parrot ideas that you’ve already heard before, and either already agree with or don’t. They won’t take any hard stances and are unlikely to answer any questions, if they do they will answer the softball questions and sidestep the hard questions. All in all, largely a waste of time and resources.
The only two that I’ve worked that didn’t fall into that category was beto o’rourke and chris christy. Both of them were very engaging with the audience, were willing to answer hard questions, they actually seemed like they cared, and were doing this for country, not career.

This is kind of niche, but I mix concerts for a living and newer consoles and shows are all scene based, every song has a scene, and most of the time every verse and chorus in the song has a sub scene. It is a breath of fresh air to be able to mix with no scenes and have to rely on pure skill and intuition. Those shows tend to have a better feel and be more energetic, albeit less polished. They are also more fun, and a little bit more stressful.
