I think “cube” was an apple term for their chargers.

It’s just a phone? I’d have an android or fairphone if my job didn’t have apple devices and apps I use all the time. Just makes sense to not need two sets of a lot of things.
Gonna be some ED-209 moments.
I’ve seen that edit. Much improved, but unfortunately there are some continuity gaps that are inevitable when cutting up a film like that.
The Hobbit
From the shitty shoehorned romance to wholesale elimination of plot points in the original story. Yeah, there was definitely some drama in the whole production of the film, but nonetheless it was crap.
I, Robot was about as far from the source material as you could get.
I can only suggest reading some of “The Way We Never Were”. It’s a look at society and how it actually was vs the manufactured versions people today use to weaponize the whitewashed past as some sort of ideal. It’s not a psychological book or a deep analysis of society at all, but one of the things that struck me about it that relate to social circles and how it applies to men in particular is the loss of “the village” and the damage “self reliance” - the isolation of the American Family Unit by making it the Family Vs The World - has done to society and the ability of people to form steady social groups outside of work. This, and the need to constantly change jobs to move ahead financially also keeps people on unsteady ground with relationships.
I miss physically owning software, movies, and music, not having to pay a subscription for car features like heated seats or more horsepower. I miss getting a complete game that was usually mostly glitch free on day one you got it on CD/DVD.
Socializing.
No social media to distract people. Nobody staring a phones. Nobody recording themselves for streaming.
You memorized phone numbers or wrote them down. You called or got called to meet up at some place and everyone went from there.
A brand that repeatedly ensures that I will never buy from them.
Almost a “stolen valor” by association vibe. It feels more like he’s using them for himself as much as he’s helping them.
Most movies I’ve seen him in he’s done a good job, playing someone comical in the MCU films or someone more serious like in Blade Runner 2049. I don’t think he gets taken seriously because he’s a wrestler, but he’s got a long filmography.
Bautista was great and honestly showed more range than anyone else. Yeah, it was comical and a little extreme, but it worked.
Dude’s an awful actor. No idea why people like him at all.
I don’t think it’s virtue signaling as much as it seems like it’s becoming his identity - and maybe there’s some right-wing bias in the media that’s putting him on display more because of the military fetish that’s been pushed for a while. I thought he was a decent enough actor, but every time I see him now it’s all about what he does for the troops.
I cannot believe the state of the country where I have to read bullshit like this.
You’re basically saying: Christians don’t read the bible, they just act like their peers and all the bad habits that can go with that.
What? No matter how bad a diet I’ve had this has never been a thing.
Ok, let’s look at this…
IF billionaires were removed from the picture, what would be the result?
There would be investment assets in various holding entities that would then be what, up for grabs? Sold off? Put in probate? Trillions in stock alone would suddenly be ownerless. How would that affect the market and the regular person’s investments?
Multiple BoD positions and CEO positions opening up. How would those be compensated? Just make more people rich?
Material possessions originally worth absurd sums now up for grabs to nobody who could realistically afford to use or maintain them (yachts, palatial homes, etc). Manufacturers of luxury goods would vanish (stupidly expensive watches, clothes, cars).
How would you prevent some other greedy, power-hungry f_cks from taking up the reins and putting us right back where we started? There is no point in civilization’s history where greedy f_cks haven’t existed, so how do you prevent their grubby fingers from tipping the scales right back in favor of piling all the money and power in their corner?
What are the unintended consequences?
(This is NOT an argument implying we should keep billionaires, just asking realistically and pragmatically what the result would be should they no longer exist)
Wrap a few strips of aluminum tape on it and ground it.
