I mean, pull the skin back and you can’t tell…

Nope. Heavens no. It’s a feel-good part of the body, hell no.
The only requirement is to keep it clean. Parents shouldn’t shy away from educating your boys about this and have some open conversations about it.
Might as well ask if you wouldn’t mind having one fingertip shaved off at birth, the difference being you’d know what you were missing because you have the other fingers to compare it to.

To be fair? You can’t just say that and remove the point of the discussion - the pollination of modern agricultural methods - and then say it’s Irrelevant. What kind of argument is that?

Religion can be used to rationalize slavery. So there.

This movie got a lot of grief, but I liked it. It was simultaneously a let down and scary to see the alien. As far as aliens go, it’s a pretty boring generic biped. But the suspense and buildup to seeing it, and the way they presented the scene as the viewer seeing it recorded alongside terrified people was great. Nailed it.
Maybe the worst aspect of the movie was the beyond-the-grave prompts regarding water and baseball bats. Meh. But the rest was pretty good.

Those books from the latter half of the 1900s about how to deal with kids just sucked. They all had various ways of trying to force kids who were any other shaped peg but round into a round hole while making the parent(s) feel justified and right about it.
“How to make your child inconvenience you less and not diverge from societal conformity requirements”
We still have similar books today, but those are bought by parents who refuse to acknowledge their kid is different and want conformity for who knows what reason…personal prejudice, religion, personal failure because of the aforementioned, etc.

Is that the one where they race on circular tracks? Those speeds are absolutely insane, over 200mph. I wonder what the G forces are on those cars.

We lean towards vegetarian, minimum meat consumption for both health and environmental reasons.
As far as leaving food out…only foods that don’t require refrigeration. Bread, snacks, etc. Anything cooked that is still hot will be allowed to cool before going into the fridge, no need to make the fridge work harder, but it doesn’t stay out long enough to be a food safety problem.
Uncooked foods that are dangers to bacteria growth like meats and the like don’t sit out ever or are carefully thawed. Eggs? They’re fine out of the fridge, just crack them individually into a small bowl to make sure they’re good before use. I think I’ve only ever had one bad egg left out and it was pretty obvious, they just last a lot longer if refrigerated. Greens and other veg just wilt and dehydrate if not used quickly unless refrigerated, but leaving them out isn’t an issue. They get washed before use.
Anyway…I do most all the cooking and take food safety seriously. I’ve had one serious bout of food poisoning from a restaurant and that made death seem like a viable option vs the misery of constantly evacuating everything in your body for a few days, and the memory stuck with me. You can cook great food that’s been prepared to the correct and safe temperature, and I have little issue with foods that have been cooked like this, left out to cool and refrigerated, then reheated to a proper temperature.
Also… thinking rice or pastas are fine left out because no animal proteins, think again.

“But they deserved it, and I deserve to go to heaven.”

Nope. There are multiple papers citing native pollinators as “gap fillers” for crop pollination, but none suggesting they can take over completely. On top of that, honey bees can be managed like livestock and hives can be moved en masse to where pollination is needed, something that cannot be done with natives.

That doesn’t make premise of the original statement untrue. It’s pretty irrelevant that honeybees aren’t native because their mass pollination does make our food production work the way it does and there’s no way natives can do the job. You might as well just as effectively point out less humans would be better so we don’t need as many crops produced. You might be right, but you’re yelling at clouds.
As far as killing off too many insects in general is concerned, fuck yes that’s a problem. Our worries revolve around crops, but there’s a shitload of nature that still depends on natural pollinators and other insects to do all kinds of jobs. We kill them off and we’re screwed.

Recently read Hayden’s World and there’s some FTL in there that (mostly) obeys relativity and the associated time dilation issues, so that was fun to see. Also, a generally unpleasant experience for the humans on the craft. Otherwise I liked KSR’s Red/Blue/Green Mars, how the story developed travel technology organically on a timeline.
Eh, I’d consider sliding the window a little differently. Command prompt only OS’s like DOS or maybe even BASIC as the “rock.” Windows was more like a Model T car. Make W11 a Pinto or something.

Probably China. It’s one nation, full of industry and under a single leadership. They could produce whatever they needed. China is one time zone.
Next competitor is the slice encompassing a large number of countries in Africa as well as most of western Europe. Huge number of people and industries contained in that slice, but they lack common leadership.

Someone disagrees with me.
Someone is pointing out an error I made.
Someone is arguing an exception to prove me wrong.
I made an agreeable statement.
In that order of priority.

Aaaand that’s one of the reasons why I got rid of Plex. “Bought” it, then they found some other feature to paywall. Bought that, then another feature. Then it stopped playing files of certain extensions through chromecast. Fuck that. Put together Jellyfin and moved my collection over. Zero trouble since.

Omg the desperation. What a cringy simp. PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!1!
Yeah, can’t imagine the medical field anymore. You don’t get paid to treat the patient, you get paid by the job rate. And they schedule the hell out of you to make sure you’re profitable for them.
