I always find irony in the fact that the US helped set up better forms of government in the countries it fought in WW2, Japan and Germany, than it could make better in its own country.

Flags have become a warning over the last decade or so about the person waving it. It no longer has the hope of a better America, solidarity, or welcome; it’s a symbol of a myopic, selfish, aggro, uneducated person full of performative nationalism and real hatreds.
Our independence was supposed to free the people of kings and tyrants. It’s been 249 years since 1776, we have undone what the Constitution authors fought for.
Unexpectedly? I’m not sure. But for under $6 I got a secondhand Faberware medium and large pot. We have a glass cooktop and our current pots tend to “bow” on the bottom when heated so they don’t sit flat. Was fine when we had a gas cooktop, but now the bow makes a hotspot in the center on the flat glass. The old Faberware pots sit perfectly flat. Awesome.
They clearly have no idea what a computer is.
Yep. The astroturfing and hive mind made it easy to leave after the API debacle. Any modestly large sub pretty much made outside opinion not worth sharing. Smaller subs were still mostly ok, but even those were being overrun with reposts or people skirting the purpose of the sub trying to get karma. You couldn’t have discussions anymore, it was people posting for karma and people responding in ways to hop on karma coattails.
If we don’t look for bots, there aren’t any. Sounds more republican every day. If we don’t record covid deaths, there aren’t any.
OpenVPN into my own LAN. Stream from there to my device.
We’re the taxpayers that want “free” health care while simultaneously paying taxes. The Right somehow thinks we’re too stupid to know we pay taxes that makes these things happen. Heck…we want people to have nice things.
Meanwhile the Right doesn’t want to pay taxes yet somehow expects to get social services like paved roads or safe drinking water. I’d mention schools or health care but the republicans clearly DGAF about those things.
We essentially have an oligarchy, or at least a growing list of authoritarian leaders. Kings in many ways except by name. Kings have been perfectly willing to destroy countries in furtherance of their egos, profits or other. Wellbeing of their citizens be damned.
Like using a drill as a hammer and leaving a bad review about what a lousy hammer it was.
The citizens, in general, don’t. We want to do the same thing every other country’s people want - live our lives and hopefully give our kids a good or better one.
I have no fucking clue what the government is doing to make these decisions.
Crosses.
99% chance it’s performative.
No, I don’t think so.
Biden golfed a total of nine times.
Obama spent 3% of his time golfing.
Trump, 22-25%, depending on the source.
This is crazy shit, a dictator stating people should work harder while spending 1/4th of his time on the course.
When I hear someone like MTG say something like this my first thought isn’t “Oh, she’s finally figuring it out!” No. It’s “What fucked up way does she think people need to be brainwashed to align more with her brand of shittiness?”
Living off flavored drinks and craving that sugar is stimulation you don’t get from plain water.
Cringe comedy actors like Ferrell. Just saying or doing stupid cringeworthy shit that really isn’t funny to make a situation more uncomfortable and unbelievable.
Story time?
Turn off automatic update.
You can restart without updating, it’s literally a menu option.
Non-problem solved.
Information or decision paralysis is also an ADHD trait. Also the inferred inability to self-motivate or get better jobs, and of course like you said, the re-reading with inability to get things to stick.
Yeah, it may not be ADHD, but OP’s symptoms rhyme with it. And they definitely don’t get better with age, you just get better at masking some of them.
I just checked these on the map. If it’s the same one in the article they are the same building complex. It would be super easy to book the wrong one, it’s not like they’re across town from each other. They’re part of the same “storefront”.
